Why poor support for racing wheels?

I just noticed that Xbox one has (again) very poor support for racing wheels. For example Project cars supports only some Ferrari branded wheels which are lower end of wheels. In comparison PS4 supports Thrustmaster T500 wheel which is totally different
animal and a very good wheel with three pedals.

If this is chosen politics from Microsoft then I have to change to PS4

    :)

  2. Most Disappointing Games of 2015

Forza 6 was the most disappointing for me. It looks reasonably pretty, but the game play, physics and force feedback wheel support are very poor.

Lucky for me, Project Cars is fantastic so I get my driving/racing fix without having to deal with Forza's shortcomings...

    poor support

I had to switch email address for my account. I took about 1/2 hour on the phone. I even got 6 months free Live membership from them.

I suspect the number of people wanting wheels is relatively low, so not high on the priority list, although there are some two peddle ones, even I don't understand why there are two pedal ones.

Seeing that most of the newer cars that are manual, have paddle shifters, there is no longer a need for a clutch pedal.

in saying newer cars you talking about the top end right? I guess most people haven't had the experience so arn't aware of the peddle drop. (I certainly didn't know)

You need to just search this on the web, both MS and Sony have a built in security chip that is bought by 3rd parties like madcatz etc, also MS has changed the way information is sent for better responce, they tell you all about it using big words i cant
    spell lol.

At the moment xb1 has the 458 spider a basic model or 458 italia ffb model, the ps 4 has none, the T500 works in driverclub but the menus still need the official duel shock.

The best thing is to choose your game and wait for the slew of decent wheels to start rolling out, all the big names are working on wheels exept logitech unfortunatly, gl.

Why poor support for racing wheels?

Fanatec just announced at the beginning of the month that they finalized an agreement with Microsoft to release wheels on the One and even allowing us to use our old wheels with the One.

Personally I think that anyone that's going to spend that kind of money on a wheel should be PC sim racing. We don't have a proper sim on the console and probably never will.

Where is the info about the old wheels working? I still have my microsoft wireless wheel here gathering dust and would very much like to use it with forza 5. I've tried Google but not having much luck! Cheers

Theres talk of an adaptor comein out for certain wheels, thrustmaster too working on one, your wireless 360 one tho mate probebly wont ever be compatible, which is a shame as most people that owned it rated it highly. I reckon we are soon to see some price
drops on the 458 models, they arnt bad just overpriced.

My statement about backwards compatibility for the wheels was strictly regarding the Fanatec wheels, These are high end wheel setups that run anywhere from 500 to 1000 bucks and many of us were extremely upset that they wouldn't work with the One.

Yeah I can't see racing wheels being that popular anymore. I remember playing with one back when I had a PS1, but it broke fast and never bothered with them again. I wouldn't mind getting one again in the future though.

Project CARS might be the first true racing simulator (atleast close) and it requires for true gaming experience wheels and pedals. You must drive old racers with 3 pedals and stick and those modern nitendo's with flaps.

I truly hope that more supported wheels, pedals and stick
