Why play to sony trolls ms?

I fully understand what the voice commands can be used for Sword, the thing is, "would I use them" is what is important to me.

Personally I rarely watch live TV these days. The last program I did watch live was the Doctor Who Christmas Special. To launch the BBC iPlayer, for example, takes all of three button presses from my console being turned on since I've got it in the My Pins
section.

I've been able to record gameplay on my PC for years, yet I can count on one hand the amount of times I've done so. The last is linked to in my sig. Why record if I can't properly edit and there is no way I've streaming my gaming 'talents' to the world.

So it is simply as I've said, I would not use Kinect and so am not keen on purchasing something that I would not use.

 

Why is this even a debate anymore. Microsoft finally gave people a choice. Choice is ALWAYS a good thing. I use my video game consoles to play video games. If I want to Skype.....I use my PC. Youtube...PC. Netflix.....smart TV. I don't know why Microsoft
insisted on shoving all this other stuff down people's throats......at a cost. $100 for a piece of tech I don't want and will never use is ridiculous. I hate voice commands just as much as I hate touch screen technology. It's useless tech that doesn't make
anything any easier and is just an excuse for companies to pad the retail price. I don't want virtual reality or motion controls. History proves that these things are fads and quite frankly.......stupid. Just give me a controller and leave me alone. I've seen
the "NEW" Kinect games on the ONE. They're just as dumb and gimmicky as the ones on the 360. I'm not paying $100 extra so my console can turn off and on cause I said so. The power button has worked just fine all these years. I have a cable box with a built
in "guide". Don't need a gaming console for that either. I just want to play "games" on my "gaming" console. Is that asking too much? I shouldn't have to pay extra for stupid novelty tech ideas that I (personally) have no use for. Bravo to MS for giving people
an option.

 

Hey guys if you spend an extra hundred bucks on your game console you can log in and watch TV hands free!

 

^^ Exactly. I've been watching TV with a remote for years.......without incident. Now, all of a sudden, I NEED to be able to talk to my TV. And I NEED to pay $100 to do so. I don't WANT or NEED my gaming console to be Tevo, or a PC, or a cable box. I just
need it to be a gaming console. It's the jack of all trades; master of none argument. Just play games, XBONE. Leave all that other stuff to all those other devices.

 

Don't get me wrong I think the tech is awesome, I just don't wanna be forced to buy it if I wanna buy a game console.

 

I think button presses are faster anyway.

 

I just think some people are so desperate to make a pointless point that they forget the fact the the majority of the gaming community has allot more experience then the consumers who care more about brand names.

 

The thing is when you buy a new product you should want to be able to do as much stuff out the box as possible. xbox one with out kinect = most the functionallity gone. for example the wii u does remote play out the box. ps 4 does remote play but you have
to buy a vita. why do some people want to buy mot things separately to get all the functionality out of it?

why not offer a Kinect free option for them to purchase?

I do quite agree that you should be able to do as much out of the box as possible, which is why I find it a shame that the One cannot pull media from a PC or NAS drive. Which by the way was something the 360 could do from launch.

[/quote]I still cannot fathom why they didn't include the ability to pull media from a PC or NAS from the get go. I hope it is added in the future.

 

The only reason I can think of for its lack of inclusion at launch, and non-appearance six months later, is that they want people to 'buy in' to the media options available on the console.
