    Why, on Bill's Green Earth, can we not create backups for non-cloud games using the xbox pc...


    This "Feature" really isnt a feature, its a required part of file keeping. The fact that this wasn't one of the first issues solved with this multi year old "Beta".

    Its not a beta, its an app. saying its a beta is just a corprate excuse for it being significantly worse than other gaming platforms.

    The main issue I have is the file restrictions, they split files up onto multiple drives, restrict you from moving them, and this causes issues.

    Such as...

    somegames actually require that all thier files be in one place to run correctly. One that comes to mind is Battlefield 2042, on install i chose my brand new 1 terrabyte drive with nothing on it. the Xbox app still slammed files onto my other 2 drives, wont allow me to move them back, and now textures refuse to load, i spend about an hour just trying to open the game, and the general game directories are slow becuase they have to rummage through my entire system to find one small thing instead of just keeping to thier own file.

    Multiple games are the same way, Generation zero wont even run becuase the recent update was installed on the wrong drive. Again i have plenty of space on the one drive.

    This wouldnt be as much of an issue if i was allowed to move it to the right drive, but no. im not. i have 2 partial copies of a game that i cant play anymore. i have to uninstall (lossing all my progress since, not only can i not backup my save file, i cant even frin the proper one, becuase it isnt in the main file

    Other applications do this too, steam is pretty bad, especially in Universe Sandbox, about scattering fiels. But thats ok, because i can move he files around an put them toggether, or back games up. or do any other basic task that gameing regularly requires.

    Another one that i have had issues with is GOG galaxy, likes to put the save files only in a different drive, but that almost makes sense. But i can move the files and back them up with inbuilt functions.

    Modding also sucks, but is almost possible sometimes with some games, because the game has an inbuilt modding function.

    Dispite constanly needing updates, the app hasnt changed in the year, year and a half now, that ive had it. Mabey a small ui change here, and a log in issue fix there, but nothing has happened, nothings substantially better, It feels like xbox is finished with it, yet they still call it a beta

    My final question/summary is::

    Why? Why is any of this an issue? Why is this 2 year old "beta" so... 6 month old-y?

    Why was the Mojang to microsoft account change so god awful. I have gamepass (clearly), so I automatically had a minecraft account made with my main Microsoft account, without my permission, since I had it installed. But i also had a mojang account under the LIVE account i use for gamepass, for some reason (not even the like 6 or 7 different people i ended up talking to trying to fix this actually explained it to me) I could not just delete the account automatically made for me, that i never logged into exceot to atempt to delete it, and then change my Mojang account over to that LIVE. Nope, just not possible. Tried it, didnt do anything, and actually made me make a new Minecraft account under that LIVE, forced me to. So i had to make a new outlook account, not really a big deal all in all. New account, fresh mc only inbox, wasnt too salty.

    Then

    when i tried to log into Minecraft, it took around 10 minutes of funmbling about because you cant have an account just logged into a game, you have to log all the way into the system. Most games hate this and crash emeditly when you try to swtich accounts. MC is one of these games. so you open the xbox app, log out, log in, and then.... "This is not your game, its your other account's game". i was confused and still am. Havent been able to solve this yet. Havent played mc since the account migration.

    Ok seriously final sumary::

    Why is the xbox "beta" so infantile and "experamental" when you have hundereds of other launchers, dozens of good ones at least, that have already done what the xbox app is "trying" to do.

    We appreciate for your patience.

    To save games in the cloud, you can:



    1. Set up cloud saves on consoles, such as PlayStation or Xbox, by going to Settings and selecting Application Saved Data Management.
    2. Play a game with integrated syncing, such as Steam Cloud, which automatically syncs your game progress to the cloud.
    3. Link game save folders to cloud storage, such as Dropbox or Google Drive, by creating symbolic links or shortcuts.
    4. Sync your game save folder directly, by using a tool like GameSave Manager, which can scan your PC for game saves and sync them to the cloud.
    5. Back up save files automatically, by using a backup software like EaseUS Todo Backup, which can schedule backups of your game saves to the cloud.

    If you’re using Xbox console, you can store your saved games on Xbox servers in the cloud and pick right back up where you left off. You can also store your saved games on Xbox 360 in the cloud.

    Suggestions for future updates

    I do not understand why you do not give the possibility to save the backups on usb as on ps4 ...
    What kind of backup are you looking for here? You can backup yours ettings on Xbox One as detailed here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/back-up-your-settings

    Also, your game saves and progress are automatically backed up in cloud for free so that you can continue your game form same point on a different console and even on PC if it's a play anywhere game. On the other hand PS4 charges you to save your game saves
    in cloud as you need to have PS+ for that.

    How do i backup Xbox One games to the Cloud?

    Im trying to backup the game Terraria to the cloud on Xbox One. I need to backup the worlds, and playerdata. We use a disk to run the game on our Xbox.

    How would we backup worlds and players to the cloud, or back them up to anything else? Many of our worlds are getting corrupted, and we need to backup the good ones before it is too late.

    So does anyone here know how we would backup this data?
    The game data should be saved to the cloud (only the main game is played from the local disk). If you are on the dashbaord, pres the menu button (three dashes) and you should be able to go to the manage game option. From there it should have an option
    for the save data which should be directed to the cloud already. It allows you to delete your save data from there (if you needed to). But you could check there to confirm it is saving to the cloud and not your local drive.

    also, are there plans in a future update to let us back up our game saves to a USB stick or external drive?

    guess I don't fully trust the Cloud and would prefer if we could create a local backup of game saves as well.
