Why not allow us to request OG Xbox games for backwards compatibility?

Basically title… personally, I’m disappointed that I cannot load DND heroes, the shrek games, or even the lil Zapper game. There were too many fun games that are getting passed up and forgotten. Heck, if they don’t wanna do it themselves, they should allow us as consumers to have access to the set of code they used for the emulator, and we can use our personal discs to make an image to upload to a, let’s call it, “community database.” Make me buy it again for cheap, couple bucks here, 7 bucks there, whatever, I probably would do it. Or, just let us make images of our physical copies that can be uploaded to our local emulator storage. Either way, i would buy into some type of solution!

If anyone has any interest, hmu. Maybe we can form a Reddit coalition or something about it cause like I said I would be verry interested.

it not about making them BC, it is all about licencing, some of the studios that made the games no longer exist and some of the publishers and ip owners do not want to renew the licencing or alter licencing to have the games available.

Xbox 360 and original Xbox games technically aren't being emulated. The games were reverse engineered to run on the Xbox One. They are, for all intents and purposes, Xbox One games running inside an Xbox 360/original Xbox virtual machine. They're not 'emulated' in the traditional sense.

This is why when you insert a BC 360 Xbox game, there is an update to download. This is not an update, it is the full game recoded to run on the Xbox One or Series X|S consoles.

The live for OG xbox games has been turned off for awhile. The only downside of doing backwards compatibility for OG games.

Backward Compatible List of Games. Your best bet to request that those are available for game play going forward is to request that from the developer of the games in question directly.
