    Why no service?


    Hello!

    I really hope someone reads that and can help me. I am trying to get a replacement for a controller for my XBOX One that came broken out of the box. The people working at the German support hotline are really unfriendly and did not let me talk to the person
    in charge there. Just after a long discussion I could talk to her. They wanted to force me to print out a UPS label. I do not have a printer and I will not spend money for going to a copyshop to print out the label. She understood that concern and wanted to
    send a me a letter with the label. After that I got disconnected and someone hung up on me, for the third time today.

    Then I called the normal German Microsoft hotline and there the connection got lost too. After that I called Microsoft corporate in Germany and they suggested to post in this forum to get help.

    How can I get my replacement controller without being forced to talk to that unfriendly people again or print out some label? I was told on the phone that "Microsoft wants to become a company that does not use paper" on the phone but they force me to print
    out labels.

    Can someone help?

    Frequent use of an argument does not invalidate that argument, especially since so far the only real attempt I've seen at countering this has been through the use of ludicrous extremes (eg "Why don't they also say HEY LETS DROP A GODMODE WEAPON AT THE PLAYERS
    FEET AS WELL GUISE, ITS ALL ABOUT CHOICE, RIGHT?"), which are usually delivered with a significant amount of smart-assed attitude.

    Most people I see argue in favour of things like this usually apply a bit of sense and suggest that it should most definitely be a one-off thing that you have to put in some effort to obtain. And I would be fine with this, because I have about 4 perk points
    sitting in skill trees that turned out to be useless to me and frankly my OCD is kicking me in the side of the head over it.

    Why No Respec?

    If there was a respec option, I don't think I would use it. When I play Skyrim, I role-play as my character. I like the idea of living with the choices that my character makes. It seems that if I were able to respec, the choices wouldn't mean much.

    If you just bought it and it was broken right out if the box, contact the retailer you purchased it from for an exchange.

    Hello, Lorelei_333. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

    Would you please follow the steps below? Please perform these steps with the Microsoft store and the Xbox app closed and make sure there are no games being downloaded or installed on both apps.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Repair, then Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Repair, then Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Gaming Services > Advanced Options > Repair, then Reset.

    - Press Windows + R. Type TEMP and press enter. Delete all the files inside this folder. Repeat this step by typing %TEMP% and Prefetch. Delete everything on both folders too.

    - Press Windows + R. Type WSRESET and press enter.

    - Restart your computer. Run Powershell as administrator and run the following command:

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    (this command can show you some errors, this is normal, just wait until it finishes)

    - Restart your computer one more time. Open the Microsoft store and sign in with your Microsoft account. Open the Xbox App and sign in with the same account as the Microsoft store.

    - Check your computer region/country and language and please make sure it is the same as your Microsoft account (https://account.microsoft.com/profile). Also check your time zone and date/time is correct.

    - Go to Start > Type Services > Open it. Find all Xbox Services (Xbox Accessory Management Service, Live Auth Manager, Live Game Save, Live Networking Service, Gaming Services). Right Click > Properties> Set the startup type to Automatic. Also Start them.

    Try running the Windows Update troubleshooter. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Windows Update.

    make sure the date and time are set to automatic.
