Why no Netflix Super HD on Xbox One or 360

The quality of Netflix movies on all platforms with the exclusion of the Wii version, are identical. The ' Super HD' only appears on older firmware of Netflix, as my Smart TV has the same version as the PS3/4 version.

Digital Foundry did a test on this a few months back. The Xbox One and PS4 version of netflix and majority of movies are near enough Blu Ray quality.

Stream Super HD and 3D

My Xbox 360 and Xbox one only offer Netflix in HD. The Netflix app on my smart TV offers Super HD. I checked my connection settings through Xbox One and is says I have 120 mbps, so it has more that enough bandwidth.

Why doesn't the Xbox One version of Netflix support Super HD?

 

please answer why no 1080p on xbox 360.

I love my xbox 360 and i would love netflix in "Super HD".

Sadly i gues some political or economical reasons behind to NO Super HD support for my console :-(

 

All movies on both new consoles should display in 1080p output, could also depend on your tv quality. I have a 42" Samsung Smart telly, and Netflix movies on the tv version look poor in comparison to the X1/PS4 version even though it has a super HD icon
next to it.

 

The quality isn't the same and that's the point that Safleydad and I are making (even per Netflix it isn't the same).

Believe me I wouldn't take the time to shut down my One and turn on my PS4 if there wasn't a noticeable difference in quality. Both consoles are hard wired with a 50mb connection so the only difference is hardware and the app.

Netflix even states the Super HD requires a 7mb connection (5mb for HD) so why distinguish if they are the same picture quality?

I emailed Netflix for an ETA for a One fix, no reply as of yet.

 

Netflix looks better through my windows 8 pc and apple tv than both my 360 and X1. They are Super HD Compatible.

I think it has to do with less compression or something.

 

I have to agree super HD does look slightly better for whatever reason on my ps4. Dont understand why its not available on Xbox.

 

Yep, switched out X1 with PS4 in the main room because Netflix looks better on PS4.

 

Well I'm not trying to be funny but netflix looks perfectly fine on Xbox One to me.

 

I don't think any of us are saying that Netflix looks bad on the One but those of us who have multiple platforms know it can look better.

Netflix is supposedly offering 3D programming in some areas that rolled out same time Super HD did, anyone have it and know if that's missing on the One too?

 

I agree it looks fine, it also looks fine on my phone. They did charge the most of any console, it should be the best at the basic features. No 3d bluray, No surround sound with xbox headphones, and a worse experience in Netflix.

I do not watch movies twice so I want the best experience possible. This should be through my X1

 

Super HD is mostly a consumer marketing term - seems to me like you guys fell for it.

The only real difference is that the so-called "Super HD" is designed to work better with TVs with higher refresh rates - otherwise, it's exactly the same.

 

Galactic. That was funny. Who cares why it makes it better. Refresh rates, resolution or better black or color can all effect quality. X1 should handle the fastest refresh rates of them all

 

Netflix looks better on my PS3 than on my X-O.

 

Xbox one has Super HD... The titles just don't say it for some reason. Search for a video called "example short 23.976" if you get 4300 or 5800 Kbps, you're getting a Super HD bitrate. If you don't, then that's on your ISP.
