    Why my Xbox One connects to US and South American based Microsoft servers when I am in Hungary?


    So these are the servers which my console connects to:

    40.90.10.136 - Microsoft Corporation - iphostinfo.com

    134.170.179.168 - Microsoft Corporation - iphostinfo.com

    134.170.179.78 - Microsoft Corporation - iphostinfo.com

    191.232.139.135 - Microsoft bingbot - iphostinfo.com

    40.90.10.83 - Microsoft Corporation - iphostinfo.com

    40.90.10.180 - Microsoft Corporation - iphostinfo.com

    191.232.139.67 - Microsoft bingbot - iphostinfo.com

    and according to my routers log the state of these connections are established.

    And there is one european server which state is unreplied so I can't connect to it. I have tried to traceroute to this server without any succes.

    And I get very unresponsive/sluggish/lagging gameplay experiences. Could it be the reason for this that my console only connected to MS servers on other continents?

    South African Servers

    There aren't any South African, Middle-Eastern and South American servers I'm afraid. :/

    The dashboard really needs some work

    The quality of the Xbox dashboard depends on your internet. Worse it runs, more likely you’ll also run into issues like shots not counting on games running off of Azure servers. The major ISPs in America are consistently getting away with throttling consumers. When you connect to a Microsoft server, your ISP will hop you through multiple other servers or hubs to get there. Wherever there is high congestion, you could get throttled. Getting throttled in one spot will ruin the entire connection.

    It’s more an issue of American shit internet infrastructure and there’s not one thing Microsoft can do at this point outside of building a UI that doesn’t rely on the internet like Sony does.

    Just like WTFDAN9 did i used a vpn and connected to an American server (currently in South Korea) and it worked. Downloading as I type!

    @BIRD when using azure u don't connect to a server in the US there are azure buildings round the world. On titanfall I get 29ms on the west Europe server 98ms on the American server.

    The problem I have been getting is when I play ghosts or battlefield on my own or with my other half then I am fine but as soon as I join my mate I lag everywhere on ghosts and battlefield

    There's no South American servers, Hooch. Brazillian players have to play SOMEWHERE.

    I'm from Hungary, I was same issue. After I connected to VPN and chose a US server, the download works...so this is a Microsoft end issue. It would be good to get something (for example an operating service) for my money from M$...so it would be very good...
