Why my xbox 360 won't read halo 4?

Hi, i've got the 250 GB version of the xbox 360 E and it can't play the physical disc of halo 4. I've taken a close look at the back side of it and there are no scratches and it looks like new.

When I try to reproduce it there are no error messages, the screen just goes black for a few seconds, then it says "disconnected from xbox live" and it takes me back to the xbox dashboard.

So what do you think?

should I buy a new disc or is it better to purchase the digital game from the Microsoft store?

The disc could be played successfully on my xbox, but one day out of the blue my xbox didn't play it anymore. When I try to reproduce it there are no error messages, the screen just goes black for a few seconds, then it says "disconnected from xbox live"
and finally it takes me back to the xbox dashboard.

Has the disc played successfully on your console previously? As simply saying it won`t play is not enough information for any of us to work with to try and help you.

Also, since Halo 4 is a two disc game, are you inserting the correct disc as one is the game disc and the other is the installation disc?

 

Yes, it's been played before on my xbox and yes I've been inserting the disc 1 which contains the game itself. However, one day out of the blue my xbox didn't play it.
