Why must play game from internal instead of external

Basically a regular external hard drive is not fast enough to run the games properly. If you do need external storage, you would need one of he expansion cards created for the console.

I was really getting annoyed by the fact that I had to move my games back and forth for no reason intill I called and got the answer that you have to play from internal not external which is a shame I hope you guys fix this in the future.

Its because external HDD's are simply rediculously slow compared to the internal ssd and the games are built from the ground up to take advantage of the extra speed of the internal ssd.

I'm just reinstalling my stuff overnight. Didn't have THAT much on the internal drive. That's why externals are a must have if you have a ton of games/data. Sure glad I had most of my stuff on that drive instead of the internal!

Why are you copying the game over instead of moving it to the external drive? That way you don't have to delete it after you moved it.

And maybe you accidentally already moved it, and deleted it from the external drive when it was already moved (deleted) from the internal drive.

If not - Optimized games must be on internal drive, games for Xbox One can be run from external HDD.
