Why Multiplayer is not working

Hello,

I am new to Xbox, I have Xbox one S, I managed to configure it successfully but struggling to play multiplayers. I have 2 controllers but still one if unsused most of the time as I don't know why joining another member from the same Xbox needs another membership.

Rocket League : Multiplayer works

Forza 4 and 7 : Game works but not allowing to add 2nd player.

Harm's Way : Game works but not allowing to add 2nd player.

Tanky online: Game works but not allowing to add 2nd player.

Looking for experts view from experienced.

Suggestions:

1. Check your Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate subscription

2. Restart your console and router

- A full restart can resolve temporary network issues.

3. Check the status of Xbox Live and the game server

- You can check for outages here: https://support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

4. Try another internet network

5. Check if the issue happens with everyone or just one friend

- If it only happens with one specific friend, it might be a NAT or connection issue on their end.

You also need to make sure the games you're trying to play support local split-screen (multiplayer). For example, Forza Horizon 4 does not have local split-screen, you can only play online with others. Forza 7 does, it should be listed under the single
player tab.

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. You need to make sure that the console is home shared by an account that has the membership. When you are home sharing with someone, you are sharing your games (not the add-ons) and subscription; Therefore,
the person benefiting from the home console feature doesn't necessarily need to have a subscription of their own unless the subscription is different from the one you have on your account. Here is the official link to everything you need to know about home
sharing in case you were curious about other aspects of the feature. You can sign in with the account that has the membership and follow the steps in the link below to make sure that your console is home shared and that the live subscription is shared.

Hello,
thank you for the reply.

My bad, but i forgot to mention i am playing on pc microsoft, which i do have pc gamepass on, so it is not an issue as such.

If any ways around it changes due to knowing what i am playing on, please let me know.

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy.

Then select multiplayer and change it to Allow.
