    Why isn't the microphone on my headset working anymore?


    So a couple of days ago, I was playing xbox with my friends and I noticed my batteries were low and I switched them out, and put new ones in. Ever since then, the microphone on my headset won't work, but everything else does (mic monintoring, the sound,etc.).
    And I know for a FACT it's not the headset, because I tried it on a different controller and the microphone worked, so it's definitely the controller. Can I get some help please?? Thanks

    Microphone problems? G430 Headset Adapter

    Hello,

    So I'm trying to use a Logitech G430 headset on my Xbox One, but things are looking too well. I have purchased the Xbox One headset stereo adapter and the Startech.com headset adapter thing in an attempt to make the headset work with the xbox, but it's not
    working. I could hear my friends on the headset, but the microphone isn't working. I tried troubleshooting, that didn't work. My mic isn't muted, the cables are all in tight, etc. Is anyone able to make this headset work for them? Or is it just me.

    I tested my mic on Skype, but I didn't hear anything. On Black Ops 3 however, I saw the microphone thing next to my name, but no one can hear me.....

    Microphone to sensitive

    Hi, as far as I'm aware, there isn't currently a way to alter the microphone sensitivity. However, the headset you use isn't an official Microsoft Xbox headset, so perhaps it's the hardware in that microphone/headset that makes it so sensitive, my Xbox headset
    is just fine.

    The 360 isn't going anywhere. You can continue to buy games for it.

    Headsets - is it my console or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately it was already set to that. I changed it and switched it back to headset and it still doesn't work. My console isn't even recognising that I have a headset plugged in any more, never mind the microphone. I want to buy
    a wireless headset but I'm thinking I don't want to waste my money if that doesn't work either :)

    Xbox saying headset is plugged in when it's not.

    I see you've played Dance Central 2 so I'm assuming you have a Kinect. Even if you have the Kinect muted for game chat it still displays an audio icon to show that you have a microphone on in games.



    Not sure why your headset isnt actually working unless the Kinect mic isn't muted and is overriding the headset.

    @Mister Urkel - same issue here, here is my setup.

    I am using a Tritton Gears of War 5.1 Surround headset. The mic cable on this was designed to work on Xbox 360, so the microphone isn't plugged in at all. Which is good, because then there's no way for the headset to interfere with the Kinect.

    The headset is plugged in to the Optical Out on the back of the Xbox One. The Mic Cable doesn't interact with the system at all, it actually connects to a little volume control which is about halfway between the headset and the mixer box. So, the mic cable
    isn't plugged in at all.

    Now, with the "Use Kinect for Chat" option turned on, when I go into CoD Ghosts multiplayer, the Kinect Mic does not work. I can issue Voice Commands and participate in Party Chat, however the regular "in-game voice" does not work. So, if I'm just talking
    to people in a free-for-all match, they don't hear me (also, there is no Microphone icon next to my name in the lobby.) If I plug in my wired Xbox Headset that came with the One, I can be heard, but the audio goes to the Xbox headset, so I can't hear other
    voices in my headphones anymore.
