Why isn’t my slime rancher working?

I downloaded the game back when it was free on gold and had no trouble playing it from time to time as I share a regular subscription, yet for some reason its not loading. An error screen appeared saying I need to renew my Xbox gold or game pass ultimate, despite having both of these and being able to play other game pass games.

It used to do this a couple times in the past but that was when I didn’t have gold, this time I do and I’m able to join parties and play multiplayer.

Does the issue happen to all of your games or just this one?

Let's remove your profile from your console and power cycle it before adding your account back.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address that's linked to your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

2. Power cycle:
Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

It’s happened to a couple others but it’s an error message about game pass, I’m assuming games that have been removed I cannot play anymore so I’m not worried about those.

Just wondering what removing my account will do as I’ve never done it before. Little worried it might mess up some files or something.

The re-adding of your account simply removes your profile from the console. You don't have to worry about your game saves or progress because they're synced to the cloud and will be resynced once you add your account and launch the game.

My profile is set as home for him.

As soon as I remove my profile from home all the games including Slime Rancher disappear from the Xbox.

His account is much newer than mine he didn’t even have the account in 2017.

However, I’ve checked the purchase history under both accounts and there isn’t anything there for slime rancher on either account.

Yet i have achievements for the game and history that shows ive had the game before.

Thanks for replying. It is working for all my other games. Slime Rancher is the only game it's not working for me.
