Why isn’t my mic working

Hi Easton, may I know if the microphone was working before with the affected apps?

Or is this the first time that you try to use them?

For now please try each possible solution below:

1. Open task manager and go to the startup tab, once there click "disable" on each app listed there

After that Restart the PC and see if the problem is solved

2. Do a clean boot in your Windows PC. For that please follow this article

It would be Xbox consoles or PC?

Also, please tell me what exactly do you mean by "but a Xbox call"?

Do you mean that microphone works everywhere except when you use the xbox party chat feature?

Where are you connecting the microphone? Directly to your controller?

And, what procedures you tried to fix this problem so far?

Yes I am useing pc so I am plugging my mic Straight into my pc and yes it works everywhere but a Xbox call fortnite,doscord stuff like that

There could be a few reasons why your headset mic is not working on your Xbox Series X. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:



1. Make sure your headset is properly plugged in to the controller. Check that the 3.5mm jack is fully inserted into the controller's audio port.



2. Check the mute button on your headset. Make sure it is not turned on or activated.



3. Check the audio settings on your Xbox Series X. Go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output. Make sure the "Headset mic" option is turned on.



4. Try connecting your headset into a different controller. It's possible that the audio port on your controller is not working properly.



5. Try using a different headset. It's possible that there is an issue with your Astro A10 headset.

6. Try connecting your Astro A10 headset on another device and see if you can unmute your microphone or use it.



7. Try testing your headset on party: To test the headset, start a party (requires internet connectivity) to test the audio:

1. Sign in on your console.
   
2. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   
3. Under Parties & chats, select Start a party. (You don't need to invite anyone for this test.)
   
4. Make sure your mic is not muted in party chat.
   
   Note You can use the Y button on your controller to toggle mute on or off.
   
5. Make sure your headset is not muted and that the volume is turned up.
   
6. Speak into the microphone. If your headset is working, you’ll see the ring around your gamer pic light up.
