Why isn't MultiMC registering a successful login to Microsoft?

I am using MultiMC on the Chromebook Linux development environment, and I go to Settings > Accounts > Add Microsoft, and then copy the code and go to the page (microsoft.com/link) and go through all the stuff (auto login through Github) and go back to MultiMC and... nothing. I have tried everything I could think of - logging out of both Microsoft and Github beforehand, rebooting, closing/reopening MultiMC, letting the progress bar get to the end (it just gives me a non-descriptive error)

Checked for updates, I'm on the most recent build. (Chrome 110 something)

The official minecraft launcher doesn't have features that MultiMC has and they say if you have any problems with MultiMC contact someone from microsoft support (If logging in via microsoft).

I've been using official launcher for some time, but my friend recommended me MultiMC so I'm trying to switch.

I take this opportunity to let you know that MultiMC5 is not an official launcher/tool for Minecraft. The only official launcher available, is the one you download from the Microsoft Store or Minecraft.net.

So, if you allow me, I recommend removing it and install the official one. Once you install the official launcher, verify if you have the same outcome or not.

If the problem is not happening on the official launcher, it's an issue with this unofficial tool you're using.
