    Why is xbox support so unhelpful?


    On July 31st i had an issue with achievements not properly unlocking like a lot of people if you read Reddit and TrueAchievements. Being the polite gamer i tried contacting the Xbox support but up to today (100+ days) i've been given a lot of false hope
    and a lot of baloney.

    The first support employee i talked to was 'Christian', who was very helpful and promised me the issue would be resolved in just 72 hours. Right now we are well over 72 days and the issue still remains.

    Later i talked to another support employee named 'Michelle', who was sure that the 'system enigeers' would be able to resolve my case. Meanwhile i got an e-mailadres i could stay in contact with this particular support employee. From this e-mailadress
    many very promising messages were sent:

    'Sorry for the delay and I really appreciate your patience regarding this matter. As we forward the case to our system engineers, it shows that this is just a delay. I know you've been waiting for the resolution for a long time now and this is not the
    situation that we want you to have. We are still checking this one for you.'

    'Possible that this is just a delay and as I mentioned on chat, we do not have an an option here on Xbox Chat Support to check your achievements stamps that is why we forwarded the case to our system engineers. I do apologize it took longer than expected
    as we're still checking the case for you. I highly suggest to check it from time to time and we highly appreciate your patience regarding this.'

    'I do apologize if the case is taking too much time to be resolved. But rest assured that our Engineers are working on it so your achievements will reflect on your account. We'll provide you an update on your case as soon as possible. We do value you as
    our member, that's why we're making sure to provide proper assistance on your case today.'

    'First of all , I would like to apologize if it took long for me to send a reply on your message. We do appreciate your patience regarding this matter. We do apoligize it took longer than what we expect. I do know that you just want to get this sorted
    out, it's really understandable that you may get annoyed about this. And as per our offline team's investigation, it shows that there is a delay on your achievement stamps and it should be corrected soon. I hope you can give us more time to update this for
    you. We would be asking for more patience about this matter since it's taking longer than expected.'

    'As our system engineers and figure out that there's just a delay on the timestamp. It should be upated soon. Nothing to worry, you have me until the end. Again, sorry for the late response as we are still waiting for a new update on this case. Please
    make sure to check it from time to time as well.'

    With the last message being the worst, as i did not have this employee until the end. The last message sent to me from this e-mailadress dates october 18th, which at the moment is 1,5 month ago.

    Later i came in contact with 'Nathalie R'. This employee typed in broken English with a lot of mistakes (even though this person claimed to be a native English-speaker). For some reason i did receive na e-mailadress to contact this person, even though
    i never managed to get my problem across, nor the correct e-mail i'm using, so this communication was also very displeasing. After a few replies from both sides this e-mailadress was closed down, as if the issue had been resolved. i received this automated
    reply:

    'Thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. The Service Request in this email has been closed. If you need further assistance, please visit http://support.xbox.com.'

    Later i talked to the worst support employee, named 'Othmane E'. For easy posting, i will just add some parts of the conversation here in which he talked a lot of baloney to give me false hope:

    Othmane E: 'Well, In that case i will check with my superviser to see what can be done, I'll be right back.'
    Othmane E: 'Okay, It's your lucky day! My manager has granted me permission to escalate your case to the appropriate team where they can easily help you. Lots of customer havz contacted us about this, It not just you, you are a bit late but don't worry,
    I will do my best to describe your situation to the escalation team so this can be addressed immediately.'
    Othmane E: 'Congratulations! I was able to escalate your case. To the department who is responsible for the achievements. Your reference number is
    [Mod Removed – Personal Information]. This can be provided to an agent as a record of our conversation if you need additional assistance. Is there anything else I can help you resolve today?'
    Me: 'Do you have any idea when this issue will be fixed?'
    Othmane E: 'Within the next 48 hours. Max. Any further requests for me, I will be glad to assist you Why is xbox support so unhelpful? :)'

    And guess what, nothing happened in those 48 hours. He however did make sure i left him a good feedback:

    Othmane: 'Awesome! By the way, you will be receiving a quick survey after this chat. Regarding on how I assisted you today and how I manage this chat. Any feedback will be highly appreciated and if that was everything, I'd like to thank you again for contacting
    Xbox Customer Support. To properly end the chat session, please click on the ""End Chat"" button on the upper right-hand corner of the chat window. Enjoy the rest of your day!'

    Then i came in contact with 'Hannah R'. This employee seemed to understand my situation, but could only point out that it is already directed to the responsible people as it already has a reference number:

    'Yes, game specialists are still on it fixing and getting this resolved. Your case are being raised for investigation and we just need to wait for the resolution. Cases like this cannot be resolved ASAP, which is why we send cases like these from time
    to time to see the queue that receives the same error.

    Then i came in contact with 'Aedryan C', who almost immedeately brought in his supervisor 'Kirk R'. Kirk R. had a great idea, he gave me a reference number and made sure i contacted the developer of the game i had the issue with. That surely must resolve
    my case!

    Aedryan C: 'I completely understand that you simply wanted to change your timestamp so that you can rebuild your streak however here in Xbox Support, we have limited access on how to rectify it since this is beyond of our scope. I would like to extend
    my help by trying to consult my supervisor to assist you further but then again, I don't want to make false hopes and waste your precious time as we may inform you the same information I've provided.'
    Kirk R: 'Hi there, Jeroen, my name is Kirk, one of the supervisors here on Xbox, and it seems that you are needing further information about your achievement, correct?'
    Kirk R: 'I totally understand Jeroen, I have further check all of the contacts that you have made here on Xbox, and I have also seen that you have already done every possible troubleshooting step to fix this specific achievement issue.'
    Kirk R: 'Thank you for that confirmation, if I may ask, have you already gotten in touch with the game developer of the game 'Agents of Mayhem' so that they can check if they can correct the time stamps of your game, since they do have specialties in the
    in game coding`s and data of it.'
    Me: 'They did not respond to my e-mail unfortunately. However i do think that once it is unlocked it is a piece of code on the Microsoft servers.'
    Kirk R: 'Oh, as for game achievements Jeroen, it is specified on a certain game, and game developers are the one that handles the contents of it including the achievements, here`s what I can do for you Jeroen, I`ll be fully documenting the issue here,
    and create a reference number, that you can either provide or show the game developer, so that they`ll know that you have gotten in touch with us, and referred you to them to possibly adjust the time stamp of the achievement issue that you are having, how
    does that sound?'
    Kirk R: 'Please don't misunderstand Jeroen, if we only have any way of accessing the in games achievement content, or the developer options of the game itself, I wont hesitate and change the timestamp that you are having issue`s with right away.'
    Kirk R: 'Thank you so much for your outmost understanding, I have already fully documented the issue here on my end and created the reference number, here
    [Mod Removed – Personal Information], you may include this when getting in touch with the game developer, as proof that you have gotten in touch with us here on Microsoft and referred you to them for further assistance.'

    Reluctanly i wrote an e-mail to the developer, and within 12 days i received an answer already:

    'Unfortunately, this is not possible for us to do. We have no way of accessing your profile on Microsoft's end. I guess sending you over to us was just a helpless move by the Microsoft employees, because they didn't know what else to do. They should know
    that we can't access anyone's Gamertag and can't make changes in anybody's profile from our end. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences caused.'

    Very polite of them to write this to me, and it did confirm what i already suspected. Afterwards i could not contact Aedryan C or Kirk R anymore through the e-mailadress they gave me.

    Then i came in contact with 'Cyrus van S', who clearly had no interested in helping me whatsoever:

    'It's seems there's no reason to help you out if only I have a tool solve this. I believe I already provided that needs to be provided here in this case though I didn't solve the issue, if there's nothing else we can now end the chat here Jeroen. I'm really
    sorry for this issue.'
    'I consulted the support here in my end, they just give me the same information that I just provided. I already told you that we have nothing to do with that kind of issue. we don't have the contact to our back person here.'
    'I believe I already provide the information, if there's nothing else, I will now end that chat.'

    After which he did close the chat.

    So now i'm wondering, why is Xbox support so bad?

    Thanks for reaching out to us! We understand all of this is frustrating since the issue has not been resolved.

    Regarding the comment that was removed, we are not the ones who removed the comment. The comment was removed by the user. It appears they removed their own comment and chose to inbox you instead of making it public. Perhaps they re-read their comment and
    knew it was against the guidelines and didn't want to appear disrespectful or break the rules.

    For example:

    1) Be an example of a great poster for others to follow.

    2) Post your comments, opinions and ideas in a constructive and respectful way. Don’t be afraid to jump in and add to a conversation. Introduce yourself. Meet people.

    3) Please do not be rude and do not insult, berate, or comment upon anything personal to do with Admins, the MVP's, Mods or any other person who happens to post on this forum.

    These are the first part of the guidelines and as shown, they talk about being a good influence basically and saying to post in a respectful way without insults.

    I hope this information helps. Please be mindful of others and know that we are not trying to silence anyone. We want this to be a fun and open environment for everyone.

    You are talking nonsense. Because i repost what has been removed before, i have to agree, that could be considered spamming. However, that does not explain why it was removed in the first place. Does Microsoft not like it when people are openly complaining
    about their 'services'?

    This seems extremely frustrating. I would be tearing my hair out if I was you! Sorry you had this problem. I've had to contact Xbox Support only once, with a positive, functional outcome of my problem being fixed in
    5 minutes. I think you have been in contact with bots, which is why I prefer phone calls where it is easier to tell if you're speaking to a robot or not. Try calling next time if you haven't already.

    Sorry you've had a bad time. I've had good experiences so far. All but 1 of them was able to help resolve my issue.
