Why is Xbox suddenly a 'Safe Space?'

First off let me say that I'm not trying to openly bash on any living person that works for Microsoft, or Microsoft itself, or even the Xbox platform. I am however openly bashing the policy and enforcement doctrine that suddenly went from only caring about
real issues like cheating and hacking and suddenly is attempting to make Xbox Live a safe space. I am one hundred percent convinced that the entire enforcement 'team' is just a cadre of bots that applies the harshest possibly punishment to various infractions.
Oh, you said a bad word to someone else? 24-28 hour comms suspension. You did it again? 1-3 week suspension. A third time? Permanent ban! Either xbox needs to hire real people to review cases objectively and judge fairly or they need to go back to the old
360 days where you didn't have to be afraid to say anything to anyone to someone who's not on your friend's list or else you're worried about a potential ban.

I'm not going to lie, I'm heavily biased on this issue because I support the concept of free speech, and while I don't always agree with what people have to say I was literally and metaphorically willing to fight to the death to
defend their right to say it. On one hand I have a kid that is starting to branch out into games other than MineCraft and Roblox and I wouldn't want him to have to hear some things on those games, however since he's started to play Battlefield
1 and GTA V with myself and a few other friends I expect him to hear a few things that aren't 'appropriate' for children, but as a parent who isn't a [insert comment about lazy/do-nothing parents here] I make the effort to teach my kid that certain things
aren't appropriate for children and it is a non issue for us. On the other hand I think if you censor people on games that are clearly
M (17+) or PEGI 18+ then you're just creating unnecessary aggravation for people that are used to gaming a certain way for years or decades.

My last personal issue was actually not to long ago on Rainbow Six Siege, of course it was a casual match and in-game people are going to talk trash and whatnot, I'm not an imbecile that expects otherwise in a casual environment where the game isn't taken
seriously. However when someone sends you a text message calling you a n*gger, that doesn't go unanswered, and sure I took the second to block him after politely telling him to "Quit being such a twat." This and several other issues are where my tolerance
for the enforcement policy and Code of Conduct in general is always tested, especially when in this particular issue Xbox is telling me via it's actions that it's okay for someone to call me a n*gger but calling them a twat in response is just outright heresy.

I would recommend that Xbox look into it's Code of Conduct flaws and change it's seemingly fascist enforcement policy in favor of a more realistic approach. People who play video games are going to inevitably get upset and angry and when they do it goes
one of two ways, verbal venting via anything from just frustrated groans of rage all the way up to enough obscenities that'd make a sailor blush or a more violent method that could be anything from breaking a control to putting holes in drywall,
and I think that while some people's feelings might get hurt with the former it's just part of the nature of the beast so to speak. In short, if someone is communicating with people who are under 18+ on a game that is specifically developed with that audience
in mind then by all means take action, but when someone willingly enters a community that is clearly labeled 18+ then the training wheels need to come off.

Nobody is going to read this and I really don't care, it was just a rant to settle the nerves and express what I think is a problem with the Xbox community that used to be quite understanding and had a realist approach to gaming.
TL;DR? Xbox's Code of Conduct and it's enforcement doctrine is absolutely horrific, I think you're a bad parent if you try and censor the world around you because you don't like what it says, and I hope that Xbox fixes it's policies to make
a more balanced online community rather than trying to play to a political ideology and make gaming the new safe space. Pro tip MS, gamers don't give a wooden nickel about your political stance, we just want to play freely and enjoy our hobby/career without
being bothered by your poor choices.

    :)

The online portion of most games are actually unrated, so in that case 'the rules' default to the rating of Xbox Live itself. Which is E for Everyone.

A mistake you, and many others seem to make, is that free speech doesn't mean you get to say what you like, where you like. Xbox Live is a private service and so Microsoft gets to say what standards of behaviour they expect their users to follow. Free speech
    really doesn't apply here.

The enforcement team won't come down on you for the occasional slip of the tongue or a curse word thrown out after a tense match. They will come down on people though who seem unable to communicate without foul language and if that applies to you, well perhaps
it is time to take a look at how you behave online rather than blaming others.

It does seem like a safe space lol. It's just society. Nobody can handle criticism and everyone acts like a victim. It's the world we live in. Millennials are running rampant.
