    Why is Xbox Gold not sharing multiplayer between our 2 Xbox One consoles? Minecraft...


    We have upstairs and downstairs Xbox Ones. Downstairs belongs to teen son with his own account, he has Gold. Upstairs Xbox is mine (mom) and a pre-teen daughter (God help me). Daughter plays Minecraft w/ friend through a separate MS account than my son's account. Something happened, upstairs console now says 'This account does not have permission to play Multiplayer". Settings had not been touched, Gold subscription is in force through 2022. Have tried the family account settings. We do not want to lose her worlds on Minecraft, please don't suggest starting over. Why is Xbox Gold not sharing multiplayer between our 2 Xbox One consoles? Minecraft... :(

    If its only affecting Minecraft, you can try a console reboot. That sometimes fixes odd issues like that.

    You can turn off and unplug the console for a good 30-60 seconds, then try it again. :)

    Not fixed :( Son says it already is set as his home console, problem persists.

    Hey there! Make sure that the console your daughter is using (upstairs) is set as your sons home console.

    Link included will show you how to set it up. Your son can set it so that no one can sign in without him typing in a code, if you want it setup that way. So he doesn't accidentally get kicked off his session on his console. :)

    If you have 3 xboxes in the house you will need 2 xbox gold accounts for all three to be able to utilize xbox Gold features such as playing online multiplayer. You can only share a Gold membership between two consoles.
