Why Is "Watchdogs" Such A Small Game?

So at approximately 20GB, "Watchdogs" is clocking it at a smaller size than "Tomb Raider" and "Black Flag".

Is this just proof that "Watchdogs" is nothing more than a dressed up version of a last gen game?

It says 20GB is the size of the download. Check out the marketplace.

"Wolfenstein" says 60GB but it's only 45.5GB.

LoL, stop looking for issues matey, the game is awesome, like really really good. Graphics and environment are brilliant...

same as titan fall, 16gb of game material is running server side.

Could it be that the 20GB is the download size, but once the files are downloaded, unzipped and installed, the total size is actually more like 40GB as mentioned above?

 

I wouldn't look too much into what a game will be like/how long it will last because of the install size.

Look at Wolfstein, roughly 45GB, I've seen quite a few saying they completed everything on it, story, all collectibles, 1000/1000g in about 15-20 hours.

I've seen reports of Watch Dogs being around the 40-50 hour mark, true or not I don't know but I've played for around 10 hours so far, played a little of the story, explored the area, done quite a few side missions and I've barley scratched the surface of
it.

Anybody know if by any chance the Watchdogs download came with one of the pre order bonuses? I'm thinking about going digital but I want that bonus that's why I'm asking

 

What a stupid and pointless thread. The game world is huge and the graphics are amazing. Who really cares how many gigs of HDD space the game takes up?

^Skyrim's install size was ~3.6GB compared to an average of ~6GB for many other games on the 360. This was due to a [then] new technology they were experimenting with that reduced
file size. Anyone remember, there were some issues of textures not loading properly? It was a result of some bugs in that tech, which caused issues where the 360's optical laser couldn't properly read the file.

In any case, why is it that people will just try to hunt down potential issues to bring up? Funny part is... Tomb Raider actually IS a dressed up version of a last gen game. lol

 

Things vary per game. It uses different assets. It's a different game entirely. File size is meaningless.

 

@Maximum -- None of the pre-order bonuses come with the digital release as they were all retailer-specific. You can, however, pick up the Season Pass and get every piece of pre-order bonus that was available.
