Why is the lag getting worse in this game?

It annoys me to no end, but I think this is just how FPS games are gonna be. I swear the same things always happens: New game comes out, runs like butter for a month or two and then TUs and DLCs stomp my desire to play into the ground. Ghosts, BF4, and
now TF have all gone that way on the XBO, though I will say TF is not nearly as bad as the others.

 

I haven't noticed in increase in lag. Maybe there are server issues in certain countries? I'm playing in the UK and I usually connect to the West or North Europe servers.

The only time I see any lag is if I'm playing with an American friend and I have to connect to a US server, as obviously then the ping increases massively. I've noticed it seems to take more bullets to kill pilots too, possibly because some of the hits aren't
registering properly.

 

Recently over the past couple of days I have noticed players rubber banding, frame rate drops as well as often in the middle of a match I get a "Connection Timed Out" notice and go back to login screen.

 

I have been getting that as well. I purchased the season pass since the game was free to me. Then the update and the game has been much worse for me. Players being invincible (think I was one match as I was getting swamped by 3 players and lived easily)
as well as noticeable slow down that I had not really had before. I am trying to regen and the plasma railgun Titan kills are hard because I have had an enemy Titan down to almost no health and then the next 3-4 shots have no effect. Then their shields come
back. Has hurt with satchel charges as well as I have thrown those right at their feet only to have them survive that and then a whole magazine.

Also, I have noticed that the match will show full connections sometimes only to drop low, sometimes 1 bar for some players, during the game. Mine typically stays at 5 bar but occasionally drops to 4. After the match everyone returns to 5 bars.

Still, having great fun with this. Game may not be deep or anything but what is there works well and the movement system makes the gameplay much more dynamic.

 

I attempted to play again today after a many month hiatus and came here because I noticed the connection was just horrendous. I kept getting "Reconnecting to Server" over and over and over. It felt like I was playing a stop motion animation game. Just
continuously died.

I did all the network tests and everything seemed fine on my end. After those, ran a full test and got 43 Down / 8 Up, no packet loss. On Titanfall 42ms ping to the West Coast Server which is pretty normal for me and 5 bars next to my Gamertag. I know
months ago I played and didn't have this issue. Tried several matches all with the same behavior. Just ended up quitting.

 

Yesterday, every game of Capture The Flag I played ended like this: -



It was really frustrating, particularly in that example as there was only 20 seconds to go before the match ended and my team won.

I played some of the other modes and I had no issues at all.

 

same been a bit laggy lately, and randomly switches my server host. switched internet providers though from Verizon to Comcast so maybe that's why.

but am still confused on why the north central us has a lower ping then my area which is east us. 37 vs 52 ping. what?

 

mines been running fine up until today when xbox did its automatic update....soon as i jumped back in after the update its horrific - my connection is excellent but im getting 1-2 bars through titanfall :/

is re-installing the game likely to work?

 

I was playing early this morning with no issues. They I was forced to download the new update for xbox one. After everything was completed, the ping on the data centers were 108 this was early this morning between 0500hrs CST to 0600hrs CST. The sad thing
is this game is only for online and can't even play it because of the lag.

 

They've admitted to this being caused by the preview dashboard update and a new version started rolling out Sunday evening to fix it. I was affected by this as well and was forced to bounce off of the wi-fi and connect via wired connection.

 

I enjoy watching pilots pop across the screen. The strobe light effect is soooo comforting.

 

My ping on the East server is usually between 50-60 ms. I usually don't have any issues, but have been in situations where people out shoot me no matter what. They obviously had a better ping based on how I died and what the killcam showed.

I have the exact same issues as other people have stated. I am being shot through walls - and even the Kill cam shows me completely hidden - but one shot from a titan or pilot and I'm dead. I am seeing some enemy Titan players strobe across the map, whereas
my own team mates don't. I empty my SMG type weapon at close range into an enemy pilot only to have them kill me with a boot to the head or a single normal pistol shot. Also some pilots kill me, and then immediately find me a second or 3rd time to kill me
again within seconds of my re-spawn. Either some one is hacking the game or Re-Spawn are terrible coders.

You asked for connection information so here you go. I'm on Telus ADSL in Calgary Alberta and all other devices (including iPTV) are shut down - the only thing on the line is XBox One. According to SpeedTest.net, my ping time to local server is 16 ms, my
download rate is 52 mbps and my upload is 11 mbps - zero packet loss. When I run the XBox One network testing, it shows similar numbers as SpeedTest.net , however ping times to "someplace" is 70 to 80 ms. When I trace route to Chicago servers, I get 49 to
55 ms ping times. In TitanFall, the fastest North Central (if I recall right) server shows 45 to 55 ms.

On Xbox 360, the only games that behaved like this are Halo 4 and BF4 and games like GT4, GTA 5, Halo Reach, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Destiny Beta and Sonic etc. never lag as bad.

I'm really beginning to regretting buying TitanFall - even if it was a $25 digital download.

 

I stopped playing titanfall a few months ago due to lag, I can never get more then 2-3 bars, but on BF4 (ps4) and plants vs zombies(X1), forza 5 I have no lag issues.
