Why is the headset adapter so expensive?

Faster transfer rates? You're actually going to buy into that? If we had any latency on the 360 I never noticed it. It's gets even better with the old " and some other stuff too that we just aren't going to tell you about yet".

What happens when you into that pub and they tell you need an adapter for your mouth before they'll let you drink your beer? I'm more than happy to spend 20 bucks on beer but when they want 5 bucks for something I don't need at any other pub I call shenanigans.

Bstn not sure if you have noticed from PS fanboys PS4 is like 5 times as powerful as Xbox One and it is much cheaper that Xbox One. So go get PS4 and stop moaning about £20 adapter

People on this forum ripped me for wanting Dolby from optical out. Xfinity uses Dolby and so does Netflix and even Xbox video. Like its as outdated as an 8 track.

there is no way Bluetooth is over. And for chat it works just fine. Zero connection issues. I can't imagine wanting to hear chat any better. Now back to a wired setup. That to me is unbelievable. Wires wires wires. what a mess

If you want a battery hog, pick up a dual shock 4 for about an hour, you'll quickly realize that you're now holding a wired controller, that's meant to be wireless.

If that's a slam at the battery life on their controller I'll have to disagree. I have at least 8hrs between Dead Nation and Awesomenauts, just now hit my last bar on the battery meter.

People that are going to slam another system should at least own it and have some real life experience with it.

I play BF4 for 2-3 hour sessions, and it seems like i'm charging my controller every time I hop on. Although, my DS4 can sit for up to a week between, but my Xbox controller can too.

 

If you're only getting 2-3 hrs something is wrong with your controller. Even games that use the touchpad and speaker in the controller will get at least 6 hrs for me.

I have 2 controllers for the PS4, use an Energizer charging dock and they both perform the same. I've played all the multi-platform games on the PS4 and no game has put me in the 2-3 hr range.

The adapter is not a passive device. it contains electronics as well as multiple buttons and a headset/mic connection. The kit also comes with a USB cable to update the controller as well as a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to support headsets that work with the
360's chat cable.

 

As another poster said, it's $40 in Australia... That's only $10 cheaper that PvZ here. Pretty steep, but we're used to getting ripped off with most things.

Still, cheaper that the base "next gen" headset offering... XO Fours are $150 here, so I'll take the $40.

 

But the aussie way of life.....priceless
