Why is the activity report showing more screen time than is allowed?

Hello all. I have limited my son to 3 hours of screen time per day, only between the hours of 7am and midnight. Sometimes I look at his activity report, and it sometimes it shows he was on for 4 hours, 6 hours and sometimes just the regular hours. Before
I confront him, I was wondering if there is some other way that it would show that there's more time that was spent on the Xbox than the allotted 3 hours? I think that when his time limit is reached, he just leaves his Xbox on and plays with his toys or switches
over to the TV. Would the timer keep counting if this is the case? I know he does the game share with one of his friends, so would it show his friends time as well? It shows that I have two separate Xbox Ones on my Microsoft account and we only have one. Could
he be logging in under one of his friends accounts on his Xbox while his friend logs in on under his account on his Xbox to get double the screen time? Would that be why I have 2 different Xboxs under my account? Any help would be great and thanks!

    :)

Family Center reports not showing accurate activity time

The family center reports for my kids are not showing accurate online activity time. For example, one was online 30 minutes ago and the report is not showing any activity. In fact it is not showing any activity for the past week and I have seen him online
play and talking to friends in a party.

Microsoft Family weekly activity report errors/anomalies

    i love the idea of the weekly screen time and activity reports. However, something is not quite right. We are 2 parents and 2 kids. The kids get their own report and the parents get both kids reports. Only;

    - the kids both receive duplicate reports (i think with diffeent data in each)

    - i receive different data to my husband, and even the days seem wrong - i.e. showing my son mostly playing xbox friday and saturday rathe than saturday and sunday....its all across by a day.

Whats going on? We are from the uk but now live in Houston. I checked and all our account regions are USA/Texas. (With the chat feature last night it was suggested that could be off and the reason why the reports are wrong. I just checked all our settings
    now).

This seems so much more hard work than Apple screen time features!

Why is the activity report showing more screen time than is allowed?

I would look into that gamesharing possibility (if you have allowed it under a child account). To verify the rest you should contact xbox support: (800) 469-9269 if you're in the US/Canada or

  5. The two Xboxes that are on your account are probably yours and the one that your sons is game sharing with if he put the account on that other Xbox.

What shows up on that screen is any device including Xboxes that the account has ever been signed into.

Screen time goes with the account itself no matter what console it is on so even if the other console signs in with the account they should not be able to use his account.

So even if he were to sign in under his friends account on the xbox it would not show up as extra screen time under his profile.

One thing you may want to check is this.

When his screen time runs out it will ask for a parents permission to continue and require that the parental account signs in and if you have the parental account set to automatically sign you in on the console he may not have to put the password into the
parental account to get extra time on the xbox.

The time in the https://account.microsoft.com/family is not correct

    Hi M.,

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry that you are having this issue with the family activity reporting feature.

First, I would like to clarify what is supposed to show up: Any time that your child's profile is signed in on the Xbox will be counted on their activity report, and counted against screen time allowance. It does not matter whether they are actively playing
a game, not doing anything, or even just signed-in in the background while someone else plays under a second profile.

Second, there are a couple things I'd like to check:

    • If you go to https://account.microsoft.com/profile/ , and then click on "Edit country/region", it will show the time zone setting for your Microsoft account, which is used when sending your activity report. Is it accurate?
    • If you go to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ , you can bring up the activity report for your child. Does this look more like what you expect?
    Thanks,

    Daniel

Activity report not showing time used

    Hi there!

When did this issue start to occur?

Try to re-add his account from his console to re-register the device on his profile.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address linked with your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

    1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

    2. Power cycle:
Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

    3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

If it doesn't work, you may remove his account from your family group and add him back again.

Let me know if that works.

How do I see Xbox one activity by day

Hi! I'm Luis, a fellow Xbox Gamer . Thanks for reaching us out here.

Your child’s activity report is available on their tile on the Family screen. To see a more detailed activity report, select the member’s account tile, select the Screen Time tile, and then choose one of the following:

Select Today at the top of the screen to see the member’s online activity for the day, including a breakdown of how they used this time.

Select Past Week at the top of the screen to see a graph of a member’s online activity for the past week, including a breakdown of how they used this time and the average time that they spent on the console or Windows 10 device each day.
