    Why is my Xbox Series X shutting down?


    My xbox is shutting down during halo infinite. Is there something wrong with my xbox? I've had my series X since day 1 and this is the first time something like this has happened.

    Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just to confirm its only this game its happening on? Do you get any error messages or is it just shutting down straight away? Have you tried reinstalling the game? If that did not work, have you tried resetting the Xbox keeping apps and games?

    Hi there,

    While I use the series X, I haven’t yet experienced any issues with leaving my xbox on extended times to see if it would shut down due to over heating. Think of it as a PC, as long as it gets air to keep it cool, leaving it on for extended time periods I don’t see why it would over heat. However I wouldn’t recommend it, as it could shut down, never tried. Not saying it will shut down due to over heating, but there’s a chance it could.
