Why is my Xbox series S so slow?

Right, I’ve got a few problems, first of all the Xbox itself is really slow, such as trying to access my games and apps - this can take many minutes to actually load so you’d assume it’d be my internet connection right? I’ve reset my internet and also booster many times, it hasn’t solved it. When I try to load games, it takes too long and kicks me to home saying it’s took too long to start, now my hard drive keeps disconnecting itself and I’ve bought new wires, changed USB ports. Nothing is working out really.

    :)

Why is my Xbox series S so slow?

    Hello!

My name is Dérek, I'm an independent platform consultant and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help you.

    Hi Ballanb0y!

From your report, it really seems that your connection is having problems accessing the servers.

    Let's test ok?

First of all, remove your external hard drive, if you have it. Leave it disconnected in all processes ok?

Open the panel by pressing the Xbox button in the center of the controller.

Scroll right on the panel to the System area.

    Select Settings.

    Select Network.

    Select Network Settings.

    Select NAT Test Type.

Tell me what appears on this test, please

After this test, perform these 3 procedures please.

Press and hold the power button on your Xbox for 10 seconds, wait for it to turn off. Unplug it. Now wait 1 minute before turning it on.

    settings

    Network

    network settings

    Advanced Settings

    Alternate MAC address

    clean and restart

Test the games, and if the error persists, perform this process. (remembering to always keep the external HD disconnected, just use games from the internal HD)

Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

Select System > Settings > System > Console Information

    Select Reset Console.

Restore and keep my games and apps.

Rest assured, you won't miss games or saves

When asking to pull settings from an old xbox, put no

You will have to log in your accounts again, that's all

Then let me know the outcome of everything. I am at your disposal for any queries.

Slow Xbox one x (Not Series Console)

Fyi series consoles are just xboxes series x or s

    Not xbox one series

    Just to reduce the confusion

You gotta remember people mistake xbox one x for a series x when it comes to requirements for example flight simulator

With xbox one games they don't have a listing for s or x they are all compatible

Where series s or x just means digital or disk

Disk games don't work with series s or one s digital edition

    Back to your problem.

Are you using an external hdd ?

Also when it slows down again is it because you are filling up your hdd?

As space becomes less computers do slow down

It would be better to get an external drive and put infrequent games on there so you don't too much things on your internal drive

Why is the Xbox Series X/S so rediculously slow?

Xbox downloads are typically capped to 250 Mbps because Xbox services share resources with all Microsoft online services. This speed is sufficient to download most games in under an hour

A game console is not a PC and since you cannot affect any of those resources, the resource meter is not necessary

High end electronics get hot, the fact that they are hot does not mean that they are too hot and out of spec. Your average GPU runs between 70 and 80 C under load. This is not a design issue, this is a law of physics. Take a 100 W incandescent lightbulb and leave it on for half an hour and touch it you will find it is very hot. Modern consoles run in the 2 to 400 W range, and high-end computer computers closer to 1000. What you have to worry about is if there isn't hot air coming out the top

you should also check that you don't have an Xbox one X, the Xbox series X is 12 times more powerful than. a launch xbox one.

why am i not allowed to just play xbox enhanced games off a external hard drive?

I'm assuming you mean Optimized for Series X|S games. If so, it's because it would be too slow to load the assets in on an external drive, hence why you need the internal SSD drives or the external Western Digital or Seagate external storage cards.
