Why is my Xbox One S running Fortnite so poorly?

Hello Jack, unfortunately the Xbox One S is a console that does not run games in 4K natively, it upscales games to 4K, as Fornite advances and evolves more processing power and console memory is needed.

You can try performing a cache clear on the console or even a console reset keeping games and apps to see if it improves.

The first is a clear cache.

1. Go to the Xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off

2. Wait 10 seconds until it turns off

3. Wait 1 minute with it off

4. Turn it back on

Xbox One reset keeping Games:

Press the Xbox button to open the panel.

Select system > Settings > System > Console Information

Select Reset console.

Restore and maintain my games and apps.

I'm getting a 120 hz monitor and I'm wondering if I can run 120 hz on my xbox one s fortnite. It gives me the option in my settings on my xbox one s but my TV doesn't support 120 hz so I'm buying a monitor. I don't want to buy the

Monitor if I can't run 120hz. And does fortnite have a fps cap where I can't run 120hz?

Yeah, I remember trying to play Fortnite on Xbox One S. It's too old, and it really cannot run on the One S. I mean, the hardware is from 10 years ago!

Like, I am running, and then, I shoot the other player, and it freezes exactly when I fire. I think it's because, the extra visuals of the gunshot, is too much for the Xbox One S to handle.

I think, the FPS is barely 30 on the One S. So, yeah, no, it cannot run the game at 120 Hz. if you really want to play a fast paced game like Fortnite, I strongly recommend the new Xbox Series S or X.

...When xbox one was launched all of the xbox 360 players were diverted to buy ps4 because of ur membership to play fortnite...

The Xbox One was s released five years later. So Fortnite can't be the reason why people preferred to buy PS4 consoles.

Destiny 1 is running poorly, and so is Rise of the Tomb Raider. Halo Wars for the Xbox 360 also ran poorly.
