    Why is my Xbox One S not allowing me to sign in?


    My Xbox One S has always worked great and all of a sudden when I turn it on is pops up the "Who's playing today?" screen and it won't allow me to sign in after typing my email and password in; just takes me to a blank screen then after a while will go to the main menu with no profile signed in. Then if I try again it does the same thing. Anyone else having this problem?

    I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

    Hope you're doing great today despite this Charles

    May I know if you tried this, all together:
    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
    Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    If that doesn't work, remove and re-add your profile on the console.

    Also disconnect your router from power for about 3 minutes. Then connect it again an when everything is working, try again

    I have two Xbox consoles in the house. I can sign on the Xbox One S, but not the original Xbox One in the other room. That older model prompts me with that same error code (0x800488FC) but the Xbox One S allows some sort of limited sign-in; on that newer
    console, I can sign-in to my account but all other options (i.e. friends, messages, parties, etc.) are gray and inaccessible as if I’m offline.

    Please help, Microsoft!

    Thanks you for the response , but unfortunately none of that stated troubleshooting worked. I did test it again Wired to my router with an ethernet cable from my computer and the system allows me to log in but still not wireless. I also took my system to my Sister and Brother in-laws house used there WiFi and the system worked fine was able to log in and play games. So I came back home hooked my system back up and even pressed the reset button on my router hopping that would fix it but still no same error message and code. All other devices iPhone, Android phone, tablets, and TV will connect to Wifi no problem.

    Which is why I'm questioning why my xbox one S allowed my enhanced hdr and 4k gaming when it's not supposed to do it.
