Why is my Xbox One S crashing, freezing and turning off by itself do often?.

does this work if you have a issue with the xbox one s freezing WITHOUT a external hard drive?

No, i haven't tried because the reason i got the external hard drive in the first place was because i thought the internal hard drive was the one causing the issues. Like i mentioned before the issues still happens when the external hard drive is not connected. Still I'm willing to try that method just in case. Thanks again. 🙏

one reason could be that either the OS is corrupt or the OS is installed on the external hard drive - this is a very rare case but it's easily fixable. download the latest system update https://www.xbox.com/xboxone/osu1 (6.2GB) on a PC and get a USB stick ready. make sure the stick has at least 8GB of storage and you are willing to erase it. once the .zip has been downloaded, open it and find the $SystemUpdate folder, then drag that folder to your USB stick. after that, unplug your USB stick and plug it in the xbox (make sure you have disconnected your external hard drive). turn on your console and it should update automatically.

if that doesn't work or you get an error code halfway through the installation, then your internal hard drive is probably corrupted (happened to my old One X). if that seems to be the case, try replacing your hard drive with a 2.5" HDD (they can be found on eBay or other shopping services). look up a tutorial on youtube on "how to replace the hard drive of a one s" and follow the steps carefully. if you don't have the tools, just take your one s to a repair shop and they'll fix it for you.
