Why is my Xbox One Elite Controller not vibrating in Destiny despite vibration being enabled in game and in the Xbox Accessories App???

Controller wont vibrate on destiny

My xbox one controller setting is set on vibrate on destiny and everything. The controller has no issue vibrating on call of duty and like so other games but on destiny it will not vibrate which is very irritating. The vibration settings are on and I have
reset the game many times. Any help would be GREAT!

Hi, there is a setting in the xbox one to turn on and off controller vibrations but I'm not ruling out Destiny because Destiny also has controller vibration settings.

I'd start with Destiny settings first.

Really odd to hear. Just to clarify, does this only happen in Destiny or are you having vibration issues within other games? Want to help narrow this down to a game or hardware issue. Thank you!

 

Vibration works fine in Halo 5, so I don't think it's a hardware issue

I think it probably needs a firmware update to be compatible with all games.

I spoke to support last night via chat and he felt the same.

 

A definitive answer would be awesome for this. Same issue.

Just to make sure, please run through the steps on this page to
update your Xbox One Elite Controller. Once you have your controller fully up to date please try Destiny again. If you're still only having trouble with Destiny Bungie is going to be your next point of contact, as it appears to be an issue with that game's
compatibility.

The link you provided is a dead link. It doesn't work.

On my Xbox it says no update available for the controller.

I've spoken with people on the preview program and they say that their Xbox One Elite Controller vibrates with Destiny. They have a different software version on their controller. So it's absolutely not a compatibility issue, but a firmware issue. The
firmware for the controller that's currently only available on the Xbox Live preview program needs to be made available to everyone.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately we don't have insight as to one updates released in preview will go live. The new Xbox One experience will be available in nine days. Since it's only this game it doesn't sound like a repair or replacement is needed
but if you're still having trouble once the console update rolls around for everyone let us know.

 

Just downloaded the new system update and updated my controller. It still will not vibrate in Destiny. There needs to be a resolution.

I have been able to verify that the controller should be working with Destiny. Before I suggest a repair/replacement can you verify if you have any third-party devices connected to your console? If you do, try unplugging them and just having the controller
connected. This is a known issue outlined on
this page.

Are you possibly able to reach out to the retailer for a quick exchange? I know the controllers are a bit hard to come by, but this will be the quickest solution outside of sending your controller in for Replacement.

 

Thanks for the troubleshooting. I am not at home to check but I will when I get home. I have a 3rd party battery pack charger connected to Xbox One, as well as my Astro A40s, and Guitar Hero wireless adapter. Perhaps 1 or a combination is causing the
problem. I will follow up!

 

Just wanted to say that disconnecting 3rd party battery pack charger fixed the issue! The controller now rumbles while playing destiny!
