    I have an Xbox series S which is connected to my TCL roku tv that supports 4k. It was working fine until suddenly the display went dim. All the white letters were brokes. The Xbox animation when you start didn't show anything, just outlines. I tried recaliberating it to my TV, tried different HDMI cables, different HDMI ports and even tried reseting my xbox and it didn't work. Whats even wierd is that I tried it on my personal montor and it worked fine. Everything else on the TV works fine too.

    I did try the factory reset. I use ethernet for connecting my xbox but it seemed to work after I disconnected my ethernet cable. I don't know if the issue was actually related to that but it works for now. Might try reconnecting the ethernet cable later at some point. Hopefully it was a one off issue.

    Hi there!

    I appreciate all the details you've provided here. You mentioned that you reset your Xbox, did it mean factory reset (keep my games & apps)? If you haven't tried it yet, we can perform that one to refresh your whole console system.
    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
    Select Reset console.
    On the Reset your console? Please choose “Reset and keep my games & apps”

    Be sure to also check for firmware updates on your TV. Also try to plug in the HDMI cable to a different HDMI port on your TV - you need to change your TV source if you use a different port.

    Terrible. All of a sudden my Xbox will not display on my TV. Either through hdmi or component. Shows 'no signal'. Was working just fine a few days ago. Tried everything. Also called 800 #, tried everything. Now Microsoft wants to charge me for repairs? Crazy!
    Misses Joust. Why send it, why charge me $99 when we all know its a software issue? Why make money on a problem Microsoft can solve?

    How to change my resolution to 480P?

    Go to settings on your Xbox and change your settings there to match your tv. If you only get SD from your tv and set the Xbox settings to 720p/1080i it will not display properly or at all.
