why is my xbox factory resetting on its own?

i move around frequently and i bring my series S with me. i first got the console around a year ago and within first week of having it i plugged it in and powered it on just for it to be the factory setting boot screen, it was a little annoying but i set it back up and continued to play thinking not alot of it. just a moment ago i plugged it in and it did the same thing, i can only change my home xbox so many times before it doesn't let me anymore.
