Why is my TV screen flickering when my Xbox Series S is connected to it?

So I have a Skyworth TV (supposedly 4K but only supports up to 1080p) and I have my Xbox Series S connected to it. Recently the screen has started to flicker when the Xbox is connected to it, now I have a home theatre system that’s connected as well and my cable box is connected to it. It seems that the Xbox causes the screen to flicker when the cable box is being used even though the Xbox isn’t in use (its on but the source is changed to the cable box). This issue is with the Xbox connected directly to the TV and when it’s connected to the theatre system.

The cache was cleared and im using the HDMI cable that came with it.

    :)

Why is my TV screen flickering when my Xbox Series S is connected to it?

Hi, my name is Marvina and I will be happy to help you.

I'm sorry you have this problem. Follow the instructions below for a solution.

If the image on your TV or monitor takes a long time to refresh, your TV or monitor may be stuck at a slow refresh rate.

If this happens, you will need to restart your Xbox console. This is the way:
Press and hold the Xbox button  in the center of your Xbox controller to open the Home/Stop center.
    Select Restart console.
    Select Restart.

Note If your console appears to be locked, press and hold the Xbox button on your console for about 10 seconds until it turns off. After turning off your console, press the Xbox button again to restart your console.

To run the HDTV calibration tool:
Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Display & TV options.
    Select Calibrate the TV.
Follow the steps to complete the calibration.

Note To find more video options, press the Xbox button  on your controller and go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Display & TV options > Video modes to set your preferences. Some setting options may not be available depending on the compatibility of your TV.

If your Xbox console is connected to an audio and video receiver (AVR), the receiver is connected to the television, and the picture is slow or flickering, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Power on the devices in the following order, waiting for each to fully connect before powering on the next:

First of all, turn on the TV.
When an image appears on the television, turn on the audio and video receiver.
    Turn on the Xbox console.

Use the Input button on the TV remote control to change the input source of the audio and video receiver to something other than the console, and then switch back to the console (for example, switch from HDMI1 to HDMI2 and then back to HDMI1).

Restart the audio and video receiver.
Set the TV Connection option to HDMI:
Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Display & TV options.

    Select Video Fidelity and Overscan.
From the Replace drop-down list, select HDMI.

I hope I can help you solve it.

    Best regards,
    Marvina.

HDR image flickering on Xbox One X with LG C9 TV

    what is your Problem?

    Flickering Screen on Xbox

Flickering Screen on Xbox with HDR

Screen goes Black on HDR with Xbox ?

You talk about going black but have flickering on Topic.

There was an official Problem with HDR Flickering on that TVs and Xbox but that should be fixed a time ago
The screen flickers when HDR or HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour is on in the TV, after a while of flickering it goes black, then the TV loses the signal from the Xbox. That's
    my problem.

If I deactivate HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour, then there's no more flickering and no more black screen.

Well it isn't fixed yet, I'm 100% sure I am on the latest firmware on both the LG C9 and the Xbox One X.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

That's the issue right there, Prezdead! My TV auto detects the resolution being put out by the source and sets it accordingly. There is no way to set my TV's HDMI input to display a certain resolution regardless of what the source is putting out. My Android
box and Roku 4 put out a 4k signal when I enable the resolution they should output is 4k. Unfortunately, The XBOX One S doesn't seem to do that.

When I do the video test on the XBOX One. My TV doesn't even flicker. It just pops up that it failed everything, which is incorrect. If I change the resolution on the XBOX One S to 720p, then it flickers and my TV changes the display to 720p. If I change
the XBOX One S to display 1080p, then the TV flickers and changes the resolution to 1080p. If I try to change the XBOX One S to display UHD, it does nothing other than go instantly to the failed screen, which states none of the options are supported. Under
Advanced Video Settings though, I have 24Hz, 50Hz, and UHD 4k checked. the problem is, the XBOX One S is putting out the 4k signal because the test says the TV fails everything and the TV will not disaply in 4k until the TV receives a signal from the XBOX
One S to display in 4k.

    Xbox one screen flickering black

    Help[quote user="xZasshuken"]

My xbox one makes my tv flicker black non-stop when i open games and apps. I switched HDMI cords to see if it was the issue and it still flickers. It's not the tv either cause i've tried a separate xbox one and no issues. I need to know the issue here with
the xbox that keeps making the screen flicker black. I did the hard reset with holding the power button down and it didnt fix it.
