Why is my son's xbox giving him an extra 8 hours and 59 mins automatically?

Another person experienced a similar issue like you are, and found this answer to be helpful:

"...Try removing the Xbox Account from the Xbox and clearing the cache by holding the power button on the Xbox. Once you have done that and the Xbox shuts off, please re boot and add the account back."

While I'm not sure why the additional screen time is being added, you may want to try these steps to reset the account to see if it helps the issue.

This is very strange.

It's true that he can create a new account or sign in with a different account so he wouldn't be affected by screen limits, but they wouldn't add to his total time.

He's clearly gone over the time you have in your image. The only way to make that happen is to have someone sign in, add more time and let him play and then change it back to 1.5 hours after he is finished so that it's set up for him next time. Is it possible
that you or your wife gave him a bit of extra time one day and forgot about it?

I'll give my son 2.5 hours on a Sunday. If he has friends come over or if he is being really good that day, I'll add an extra 30 mins or an hour and when he is finished, I'll change it back to 2.5 hours so it isn't set up with the extra time I've given him
the next time Sunday comes around.

It's not possible to do it like that.

Why not just give him 8 to 5pm and give him 2 hours. That's what I do. I'll tell my so. he has two or three hours from 9 to 5 and it's up to him when he uses them. They get warnings telling them how much time they have left.

If he uses it all up in the morning I just tell him too bad, he should have played less.

Day 3 Reward page is up:





It resets once again exactly at 12am just like for Day 1. Yet, the countdown for Day 2 reward was showing about 8 hours left. The reason why?

Look at the page I am seeing for Day 3. At the time of this post it's 12:45am and the countdown is showing 1 day 7 hours 14 min left. This means at exactly 12:00am my local time, the countdown would've been
1 day 8 hours left. This page resets daily at 12:00am local time it seems.
So why is the countdown given an extra 8 hours??

This is why I missed the Day 1 reward, because I assumed the reward page won't reset over midnight since the timer still shows 8 hours left. It should have not add this extra 8 hours. The countdown shows you 24+8 =
32 hours to do the reward, when in fact there's only 24 hours.

The sad shit is Day 1 reward would be long over, so what's the point of figuring it out now...

Why not buy one? I'd like to see an official server that does this too, although to be honest we'd never take full advantage of it... 26 maps at 20 mins a game = 8 hours 30 mins for one rotation.
