Why is my mic not working?

If it is not a case of an enforcement action then try these troubleshooting steps.

Go to settings > device > accessories > update controller

I have no enforcements taken against my account currently and my headset works fine on any other platforms and today i also discovered on other accounts logged in on the same pc the mic still works fine. I really do not know what this issue could be?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor here to help you with your concern.

"Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & System> Settings > Account > Privacy & Online safety > Xbox Live privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, then make changes.

If everything is on "Allow" or set to "Everyone" kindly block all of them then power cycle your console and "Allow" and set to "Everyone" again. This is to refresh your account setting.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​"

My headset is fine as the issue still stands on xbox and pc, i cant find anything about this but i assume i am chat banned but have no message about it or email? And i can hear others they just can't hear me.

It is possible that there is an issue with your microphone or headset, or it could be a problem with the Xbox Live service. It's unlikely that changing your email would have caused this issue.
