    Why is my gamertag "not allowed"


    I am trying to change my gamertag to my First name with one letter an X but it says "This gamertag isn't allowed. Try a different one."

    I dont understand why it wouldnt be allowed when its literally nothing bad, just my name with a X.

    Hello and you try to type spaced out what you wanted your gtag to be. Looking at it will give us all a heads up on issue. If it states its not allowed through XBox terms it wont be allowed. Nothing anyone can do about that. It sux that you cant get the
    gtag you want but try to get something else as close as possible.

    It's probably one of those situations where we see the gamertag as being fine, but the system has other ideas, try changing some characters around and see if you can find a suitable combination that works.

    There could be multiple reasons why you're experiencing these issues, most likely this issue is due to any words that can possibly be identified as offensive, are not allowed on Xbox to help create a positive environment for all gamers. Try using a different
    word or a different combination of words. Hope this helps!
