Why is my game lagging?

My download and upload speeds on my wifi are 60 mbps download and 25 mbps upload, but i still lag when i play online games. What could the problem be?

Problem is xbox servers are beimg strained with everyone being at home playing. Sony and Nintendo are going thru the same thing.

More and more people are being forced to stay in their homes. This has put a tremendous amount of usage on the entire internet. Some ISPs can handle the traffic while others are stuggling to meet the demands of users. We're going to see this happen in
all areas of the internet over the next month at least. In the EU, Netflix has cut it's stream quality down to help in the influx of internet traffic. We might see more of this with other content and media providers.

I would honestly bet it is more a server problem then internet speed. If it is a new game and there are lots of people playing it, the servers may be over loaded with playiers, especially with the CV-19 and stay home orders.

what game is it? it may also be a server problem because of all the people that are playing.

I'm playing Rocket League and having the exact same issue. I switched to an ethernet cable and it did absolutely nothing. My friends are playing it with no trouble at all, but I can't even see what's happening, let alone play.
