why is my elite controller not working suddenly

We totally understand that you want to fix your issues with your Xbox Elite controller. Based on the information you've provided; it seems like the issue might be with the wireless connection between your controller and your Series S console.



•Reset your console's wireless connection: Go to Settings > General > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear > Restart. This will reset your console's wireless connection and may help resolve the issue.



•Try connecting your controller to your console using a USB cable and see if it works. If it does, then the issue might be with the wireless connection.



•Try connecting your controller to your console using a different wireless connection method. For example, if you're currently using Wi-Fi, try connecting your console to your router using an Ethernet cable.

•Reset console's Bluetooth connectivity.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

1. Select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
   
2. Select the controller you want to remove, and then select Remove device.
   
3. Press the Xbox button on your console to open the guide.
   
4. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Advanced settings.
   
5. Select Alternate MAC address, and then select Clear.
   
6. Restart your console.
   
   •Update your controller firmware:
   
   You can do this on your console by pressing the Xbox button  to open the guide and then selecting Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets. Select “…” under the controller that you’re troubleshooting to check the firmware status.

Hi. The controller I have is "PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S". There is a section for PowerA in verified controllers. It use to work for me just fine for over a year. I am not sure why suddenly it is not working. Any ideas?

My controller started having the same issues within the past week. Mine's not elite, and it is a few years old, but suddenly out of the blue my mic quit working. I still get sound through the headset, the mic just doesn't get picked up by my xbox.

I've got a Recon 50X that's also almost a year old. It works just fine when I plug it into anything else.
