Why is my controller turning off when i plug in my turtle beach headset?

When I plug in my turtle beach headset it seems that my game volume goes to my friends and my mic even if i turn off the game volume it still goes. Is there a setting

For me, I unplug both the mic and turn off controller then plug them back in.

Then I realise my mic is muted from the headset. I have a Turtle Beach Recon 50x so there is a switch on the wire to mute the mic.

You can also check the audio settings to see if mic monitoring is all the way up.

I did that and sadly no give. When my headset is plugged in. The only mic i can turn on or off is my kinect.

My Turtle beach headset does this sometimes, I have to either turn the controller off and on again or take the chat adapter out and plug it back in again. A hard reset should also help root out the problem.

I bought the headset and i still like my turtle beaches better for hearing footsteps. But im huge about xbox so i got this new headset for when my turtle beaches get low on battery. But wow does it make me so mad it literally shuts my xbox off everytime. I thought the first time something weird was just going on and it was a one time thing but I literally cant turn on the headset while my series x is already on or it will turn it off. Why hasnt it been addressed??

When i plugged my headset apadter in earler today when i received it i was prompted to update the controller once again, Plugged in and using a old turtle beach chat cable with it.
