Why is my controller drifting?

Why in the world is my controller drifting? So my problem is that my controller drifting. This is not that much of a problem I know, but the problem for me is that I only have one Xbox one. When I want to play with my sister I just can't because, well we
can still play but it's SO ANOYING because I can't enjoy my games any more when I am playing with my sister because it just drifts and I can't enjoy because she never wants to get it and I have to. Please tell me how to fix this
problem.

Why is my controller going up

My controller keeps looking up when I'm not doing anything. It just did this all of a sudden.

Is there any way I could fix this without buying another controller?

Why is my controller not working bs 2 is a gfwl title and it's not compatible with a Xbox 360 controller why is there a patch or update

If your controller is drifting, the only option really available would be to replace the controller, which is explained a little more

Hey Neon,

Ive had this issue a few times,

It is due to wear on the controller, like with me mine drifted due to me being heavy-handed and clumsy so dropping the controller it has caused a drift in my right thumbstick, but both sticks are connected together on the motherboard on the controller and
this is why it affects your typing on the Xbox keypad/ keyboard.

I just got a Xbox controller for Christmas. And as soon as I connected it to my Xbox it had drift on the right joystick. I opened the controller right from the box and didn’t get any dust of anything like that near it but still it drifts. I wanted a new Xbox controller because my old controller had drift. Crazy how out of the box it already has drift.

That is strange. I've only ever had stick drift on my old 360 controllers. I don't know if the standard Xbox one controllers have it, but the Xbox Elite controller sticks can be adjusted to have dead zones to avoid drift. Check in the Xbox Accessories
app if you can adjust it for normal controllers.

Have my elite controller set up and still drifts. Can't do standard controller. Did notice they drift worse on any COD.
