Why is my console updating 3 to 4 times a week?

Multiple updates are really ruining any kind of gaming experience. I can't play any game for more than a few hours before my console wants to update and I loose most of my progress. I'm at the point where I'm about to throw this thing out the window and
go get a ps4. Three to Four separate 400-500mb updates. That's kind of ridiculous. But of course Microsoft doesn't care. I just put 8 hours into a game of zombies on Black ops 3 and was 2 rounds away from 100 which is a stupidly hard thing to do, but no xbox
wants to update again, disconnects me from the servers and I loose the past 8 hours. This has been going on for over a month.

Update?

why does every time I turn my Xbox one on I need to update the console? I keep " updating " it 3 times already..

PS: my power adapter keeps making weird sounds. The fan maybe.

Have they patched cod 4

Calm down people. They still have updates for the elder scrolls 4, so why not cod 4? Just because it has been out for 3 plus years doesnt give Iw an excuse for not updating it. Up until black ops I still played it from time to time, but I do agree that
this should be posted in the cod 4 forums.

Do you mean console updates or game updates? You can set your console too automatic update by setting instant on and automatic updates.

If your getting 3 or 4 console updates a week then your in the preview program and thats why your getting them.

Why not pop the game disc into your console and see ? Last time i played it was about 3 or 4 weeks ago and the servers were rubbish , disconections every 10 mins or so , traded it in for 18 quid.

Finally resolved yes. Just had to wait a very long time to update (3-4 weeks) but after that the rest was very quick in a way!

Why would the distance suddenly matter now? My connection was fine for all this time. Yes, there was distance, but I had at least 3/4 bars of signal strength. Then last week, I was barely able to connect. Now the bars alternate between 0/4 and 1/4 bars.
