Why is Minecraft for Windows edition so laggy.?

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

You can try disabling startup program in the task manager to see if that improves the performance:
Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

Restart the PC and check the game.

Also, sometimes helps closing background processes and apps opened in your PC
Basically close all the apps and leave the game open

If the issue performance is the same.
in that case is your current hardware the one that isn't capable to run the game

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?
