Why would anyone like the removal of the family pack? It just shows Microsoft sticking it to families forcing them to move to the X-Box one if they want to have one live gold account to pay for. I will also be cancelling my subscriptions.

When you have kids $240 a year is quite expensive for a service.

So basically...for us gamers that really make Microsoft their fortune...we have to pay $2000 for 4 consoles for our kids...$1000s of dollars for multiple copies of the same game...and $240 a year for 4 gold memberships....Microsoft can suck my ****.....Sony
here I come.

 

Its amazing how many people come up with that exact same figure of $240, seriously shop around.

$240 / 52 (weeks) = $4.60/week..... If you cant afford $4.60/week.... Gaming is not in your best interest.

The only advice the OP should follow is to shop around. Not doing so is being a noob at life.

 

I agree with Bizarro, shop around. Dont go to a retailer, see their price and freak out, believing that is your only option. I got memberships for my entire family using a rewards program from my local gas station chain.

 

Seems like everyone is missing the point. I have always been Microsoft all the way, and I have argued many arguments passionately on their behalf. Everyone talks about shopping around, and having other bad habits. If anyone wants to argue real facts let
me know, but the truth and facts are that through the Microsoft Corporation people could buy a family gold membership for only $99 one year for 4 family members. Now if you are one of the still thousands of unfortunate families unable to afford a Xbox One,
then through xbox.com Microsoft they only offer now a year membership for $59.99 per person. That means for myself and 3 other family members it would have to be $240 per year now. I would be most appreciative from anyone who is arguing this fact if they have
proof that you can get the memberships cheaper elsewhere. I must say again for years I was pro Microsoft and Xbox, but now what is so great about them now if I can go to Playstation and play for free. I was even willing to pay for Xbox play in the past, but
now they give customers a great deal then take it away for what.............GREED I guess.

 

It also seems that since no one can actually defend the fact that Microsoft has cancelled the Family Gold pack, everyones answer is to call me a noob of get out of gaming. Well that really addresses the issue that Microsoft has taken away the Family Gold
memberships for people with the 360. Now forcing their loyal customers to pay for $240 a year for 4 individual memberships instead of keeping their Family gold for only $99 for 4 memberships. Sorry Kingvas 78 I guess not everyone is as rich as you, and I don't
drink starbucks.

Surely you knew it was coming,you had plenty of warning before your EXTRA year ended.

Ebay,amazon etc are full of 12 month cards at less than $60.

 

see how easy it is for those without a famally 2 consider say shop around wish it was that easy Micro has decided 2 gouge players 4 every and anything they come up with example, its abad economy no more famally pacs, u cant afford a new sys well n 2yrs

I guarantee if you shop around you will get 4 gold accounts for less than $150.

Every person that comes here moaning about the end of the family pack, which ended over a year ago,comes up with the same over inflated figure of $240.

The fact of it is,if you can`t afford to continue paying for your luxury item,then stop, buy groceries instead

 

Once again, you fanboys are missing the point. Microsoft=$240 Sony=Free. Even if you could get the family plan for $5. Sony would still be the better value at.......I don't know........Free. That's the only point the OP was trying to make. Meanwhile you
guys are talking about Starbucks and other irrelevant things. The fact that Microsoft has had to reverse every single "stance" since the release of the ONE (forced DRM, no used games, Kinect always on) just shows how out of touch they were/are. Finally, after
8 years, they've removed the paywall to access apps that were/are free everywhere else and lowered the price for people who don't care about the Kinect. I applaud them for the changes and it's only a matter of time before the online is free as well. It'll
need to be to stay competitive with Sony and Nintendo who have been doing all the things I mentioned above for free.....since day 1.

 

Here's what I do:

STEP 1: buy Gold for approx $35/yr (sometimes even as low as $30) by creating an alert at slickdeals.net

STEP 2: since most of the people in my family don't play our various 360s at the exact same time, they're free to log in as me...most games they play can be played offline anyway so it's irrelevant...
