Why is it that every Minecraft skin I download off the internet is basically "not a skin" in game? I've tried every skin I can, and all of them aren't considered skins.

I cannot figure out how to use my custom skin on xbox and nintendo switch in minecraft 1.19.

So, I have used skins I buy off the Minecraft Marketplace and when I use them, they save on my account, is there a way I can do that for a custom skin that I downloaded off the internet?

How can I get custom skins onto my xbox?

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good evening

Yes, you can use your custom skin on your Xbox One. Here are the steps you can follow:

Upload the skin to the internet: You need to upload your custom skin to a website or a hosting service that can host your skin image online. There are several free websites that can do this for you, such as NovaSkin, MinecraftSkins, or MinecraftSkinShare.

Download the skin to your Xbox: Once your skin is uploaded, you need to download it to your Xbox One. Here's how:

Launch Minecraft on your Xbox One.

Go to the "Help & Options" menu and select "Change Skin".

    Choose "Browse Skins".

Enter the URL of the skin you uploaded to the internet in the "Enter a valid URL" field.

Click "Confirm" to download and apply the skin.

Alternatively, you can also transfer the skin to your Xbox using a USB flash drive. Here's how:

Save the skin image to a USB flash drive.

Plug the USB flash drive into an available USB port on your Xbox One.

Launch Minecraft on your Xbox One.

Go to the "Help & Options" menu and select "Change Skin".

    Choose "Browse Skins".

Select "Custom" and choose the skin image from your USB flash drive.

Click "Confirm" to apply the skin.

    Minecraft Skins

    Hey IronTango

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

    In regards to
using a custom skin in Minecraft Windows 10
, you don't need anything like USBs, every Minecraft skin website that lets you create or choose a skin should have the option to
Download or Save your skin. When prompted to save the file, select
    Save.

By default, the file is saved to your Downloads folder. Make sure that the file name has a
    .png extension.

To upload your skin to Minecraft and start using it:

    1. Launch Minecraft and select Skins from the main menu.
    2. Select Browse skin.
    3. Navigate to the Downloads folder or to the folder where you saved the .png file and select the new skin.

The next time you load your game or create a new one, your character will be wearing the new skin that you created.

I hope this was of some help to you.

    Minecraft Help

Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

Even if you have disabled trusted skins and updated your game, there are a few reasons why your Minecraft skin could not be shown on a multiplayer server. The following are some potential causes and remedies:

    1. It's possible that the server you are on is configured to show everyone the default Steve skin because some multiplayer servers have special settings that override the skins of all players. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do to modify this is to switch to a server that supports custom skins.

    2. Skin caching: Since your computer may occasionally have an outdated copy of your skin, it's conceivable that this is the root of the problem. You might try emptying the cache for your Minecraft skins to fix this. To achieve this, open the Minecraft launcher, click on "Launch Settings," choose the profile you're using, and then click on "Additional Options." In the "JVM Arguments" text box, enter the string "-Dminecraft.skinServer="https://skins.minecraft.net"; to customize the game's appearance. After making adjustments, start Minecraft. This should require the game to re-download your skin from the server and remove the skin cache.

    3. Make sure your skin file is in the right format by checking it. The picture size for Minecraft skins must be precisely 64x64 pixels and must be in the PNG file format. Your skin might not be recognized by the server if it is not in this format.

    4. Internet access: If your internet connection is unreliable or slow, the server could be unable to fully load your skin, which could result in it appearing as the standard Steve skin. By joining a quicker or more reliable network, try to improve your internet connection.

I hope this helps you fix the problem so that your skin displays correctly in multiplayer servers.
