    Why is it so hard to set language / country / regional settings?


    I bought an xbox one thinking that I could set my region to Netherlands, (where I live) and my language to English. Yes I can set the language to English but only if I choose the US, Canada or UK. The Netherlands region is no where to be found in my list
    of country options.

    How can I set the region to the Netherlands if the option is no where to be found in the settings?

    Since I cannot set the region to the Netherlands I cannot purchase & download games, which is the main reason to buy such a product, right?

    If I had known that xbox one was such a crappy, shoddy product I would never have bought. What a complete waste of money.

    xbox one language. english in austria/germany?

    Sadly, there's no way to set the system language to English if you don't live in an English speaking country. I have the same problem, I absolutely hate the Brazilian Portuguese dubbed games and keep my settings as English/Canada (because Canada is more awesome, sorry US), but can't use credit card or Xbox Movies without resetting the system.
    For now, the best we can do is vote in one of the several Xbox Feedback demands to dissociate languages from region on Xbox or let you download games on a language different from the system language.

    Hello ... i live in Deutschland maybe 6 months ... and i set country Deutschland but why i cant set language on English ???? this language system is so stupid.

    Hi there,

    you can set the region to Nederland, but you will need to select the language Nederlands (Dutch) in order to do so.

    Please vote for the highly requestion option to select region and language without them being dependant on each other here:

    xbox.uservoice.com/.../6028840-don-t-region-lock-the-languages

    A workaround could be that if your account is set to the Dutch region, you can purchase things via xbox.com or smartglass (when it's not connected to the console) via the Dutch region and have the console set to a English region and English language, the
    purchases should download to the console after purchase.

    Is your account set in a region where Spanish is the primary language? If so, that would be why.

    May I know from which region/country are you physically located?

    You region should be set correctly from your PC Settings.
    Select Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region.
    Under Country or region, select your correct region.

    It's important they match and it's by country not continent

    And this is set under account management and only can be set every 3 months not console

    There is no setting that you can set that makes it universal your geoip MUST match
