    Why is it asking me for billing information for a free live game?!


    I'm being asked to enter my billing information to download one of the free Xbox Live games. I don't want my credit card information added to my Xbox.

    DarkMoofey, i click it but it is asking for Billing...

    But its showing FREE!

    GUYS I DONT WANNA BUY, I WANT TO DOWNLOAD!

    AND I WANNA DOWNLOAD IN MY PC!!!

    It is showing its FREE then why it is asking for billing???

    When i click it, it say for billing (something like that)...

    But it say it is free then why it asking for billing?

    You're still making a purchase even if it's free. So they have to have some form of payment method for you to use to make the purchase.

    ... I don't need a payment method, though. I've never had to enter my credit card information for PS Plus games on the PS4, and things seem to work fine.

    ... I don't need a payment method, though. I've never had to enter my credit card information for PS Plus games on the PS4, and things seem to work fine.

    No, I was asking can i have xbox live gold for 1 month not a trial because i was gonna get xbox gold anyways but it says i cant get it and my bill information keep saying it a error with it i keep trying to fill in the bill information but it wont let me
    complete the process so im just asking for 1 month for free please my free i just dont know why the trial isnt working :(

    Xbox 360 saves to Xbox One help

    I found out just now you can get certain content on the Store on Xbox One, like the Dog Breed one. It's free. So that's great!

    The only thing is, I don't understand is, why when I am claiming free content, does it ask for me to change payment options and my billing address???

    It even says:

    "Free

    This purchase channel requires a billing account. Please add a valid payment instrument. You will not be charged for a free item."

    Well, if I am not charged for a free item, why do I need to fill in my billing address and payment information?
