Why is everything so slow? (Dashboard)

Have you tried opening up a message as it appears on screen?

You know when you hold your middle xbox button on your pad as the notification is on your screen?

That is what takes so long for me. (not sure how long it takes if I'm already on the dashboard, but if I'm in game and open a message this way, it takes up to a minute to open).

Opening up messages and friends as normal from the dashboard seems to be ok for me, like you guys are saying. But I tend to open them as soon as the notification pops up & that's where the problem lies.

 

Only takes a few seconds here. Do you have a warranty on your One? Maybe the system is dying.

 

I will agree with randver that compared to my PC or even the 360 for that matter, the Xbox one UI is quite slow and laggy at times. On the 360 even, to open friends list and join a party was fast and fluid. Now it seems as though the one struggles in this
area. I'm starting to think that the more they put into next ten tech the slower it seems to run and I'm not just talking about consoles either. Phones, TVs, bluray players. All seem to run a lot slower than the previous gen products.

 

LOL comparing power to a PC, PC Always win. Alot of these system problem have to due to $. If you have a 500$ system which is really weak and a 1000$ which is super poweful. Which is going to get more sales. Thats why many people want go to PC it cost too
much money. is all about the $.

I haven't tried opening achievement or message notifications during a game in ages for exactly the reason you stated. I use TA website to check achievements while playing and messages can wait.

 

I also don't use my Xbox to check msges and achievements. I always have my phone next to me so I use smart glass for it all. It's so much easier

 

I did a UI comparison on my YT channel about 3 months ago of the speed difference between 360 and 1 *with the controller*. I don't think the November Update is out yet because in NZ for me it's Saturday 7:15 am (I woke up early). And if you're in this Preview
Program thingy (I'm not), you will experience some bugs as it's not the finished Dashboard version which is out for everyone. Since the October Update loading stuff is fine but it still feels kind of Windows 8 but am not overly bothered with it or the navigation
speed with the controller. They have been rolling out system updates pretty much every month. Xbox 360 only gets a system update pretty much once every 4 months or so. I think G has seen my video.
