  1. Why is Bedrock Edition not on MacOS?

I have purchased Minecraft on MacBook, and while I was aware that the game would not come with Bedrock, I do not see a feasible reason why. I have played Minecraft for a while and always on Bedrock because of how compatible it is compared to Java. A lot of Minecraft is based around community and multiplayer; however, without Bedrock on MacBook, you can only play with people who use Java. The issue with this is the lack of compatibility with other players. Somebody with an iPad could play with anybody apart from someone who had a MacBook, as long as they had Bedrock.

One of the arguments I saw as to why Bedrock is not available on MacBook is that Bedrock is built on Windows, but this is simply not a valid reason, as iPads and iPhones both have Minecraft on their App Store.

Another reason I think MacBook should have Bedrock is that we have seen crossplay before with MacBook and iPads/iPhones, as well as Windows PC with Minecraft Education Edition. This shows that despite the arguments around different devices having internal software, there are still Minecraft versions available to support this crossplay.

I do not understand why Minecraft would ever even decide that out of both games, Java is the one they considered creating. Java is the most intensive to run and often requires a stronger computer. Bedrock would have been the best one they should have considered, as MacBook users could have a smooth transition of Minecraft through all of their devices, including iPads. It also makes sense that Apple would allow other Apple products to be compatible. With Bedrock, Minecraft could increase its player count because it is made for performance and smooth gameplay on many different devices, meaning people with less modern MacBooks could still play, increasing the demand for Minecraft.

Another reason is that it is simply unfair that Minecraft does not decrease the price for less than half of a game. A Windows user could pay the exact same money and play all of Minecraft. However, a MacBook player might be deceived into paying £30, the same as a Windows user, but not be able to play with their friends due to their less strong knowledge of Minecraft. I think at the very least, we should see a decrease in the cost for MacBook players when purchasing the game.

But why is there even a need for Bedrock on MacBook? MacBook players already have Java.

The MacBook gaming community is growing stronger, especially with the development of new macOS versions. These computers are becoming powerful enough that many other famous games have expanded their compatibility, such as Resident Evil Village, Baldur's Gate 3, and No Man's Sky. All of these games were never considered for MacBook during release, but due to demand, they ended up being released on MacBook. MacBook players have been wanting Bedrock on MacBook and have been using emulators for a long time. Providing money to emulators and third-party services that can stream games is a concern, as these emulators can provide free Minecraft copies on computers, which means Mojang receives no profit. Many games have introduced all parts of their games onto as many devices as possible to reduce the likelihood of this happening.

A much more technical reason why Minecraft Bedrock should be considered for MacBook is that Java on MacBook can be very GPU-intensive, whereas Bedrock would be more suited for MacBook. MacBook players would be able to play Bedrock comfortably because it is designed for lower-end devices, making a MacBook run the game smoothly.

And my final point as to why Minecraft should consider adding Bedrock: they have had Bedrock on devices with much less attraction compared to MacBook, but still made a profit on many of these devices. Examples include the Windows 10 phone, VR, and even a Fire Stick. Some of these devices have discontinued Minecraft, like the Fire Stick. However, this was not due to a lack of players but rather due to data and downloading issues on the Fire Stick.

My conclusion is that there is a striking demand for Bedrock to be considered for MacBook. These demands have been seen on many platforms, such as a Reddit post on /MacGaming, as well as comments with lots of attraction on Minecraft support. MacBook users will never be able to play with their friends on iPads or iPhones, as well as PlayStation and Xbox, and will miss out on full compatibility. They will also never be able to access Minecraft Marketplace, where they can spend money on clothes and skins and give back to their Minecraft community, which will, in turn, help Minecraft’s progression. This damages the Minecraft community and makes disparity even worse, as there is no core game where every Minecraft player can play together.

    :)

Why is Bedrock Edition not on MacOS?

Hello! My name is Mario and I welcome you to the Microsoft Xbox Community!

I understand that this situation is directly affecting the way you play Minecraft due to the limitations when playing it on MacBook.

In this case I would recommend that you go directly to the following link and leave your feedback so that the Minecraft team receives it and they can work to further improve the compatibility of the game in the future.

You can do it from here:

Please keep in mind that this is a public forum. I am an Xbox gamer like you and I am happy to help you with my knowledge. Unfortunately, I am unable to access your internal account information.

i bought minecraft but only got becrock i waited 72 hours but nothing did i get scammed?

My name is Fernando I'm an independent consultant, I'm happy to help

Minecraft has two different versions for computers: Bedrock Edition: Available for Windows 10 or higher, game consoles and cell phones; Java Edition: Available for macOS, Linux and earlier versions of Windows. Since the Java Edition only supports Windows, macOS and Linux, you can only play with others on traditional computers. On the other hand, Windows 10 Edition is based on Bedrock Edition which is also used for mobile and console versions of the game. This makes it possible to play with players on those platforms.

Hope I helped and see you soon

Minecraft and Java edition for PC to play online with other children playing on iPads.

Hello, G25 F. I'm Arturo, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today. Based on the information you provided, it would be better to not ask for a refund if your son wants to play with his brothers. The Minecraft bedrock edition, included in the Java + Bedrock bundle, allows your son to play with people on mobile phones (iOS and Android), consoles (PS, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), and Windows PC (Bedrock). The Java edition is compatible only with PCs (Windows, macOS, Linux). Therefore, if you request a refund, the ability to play with people on mobile and console will not be possible. Let me know if you have any other inquiry. Regards, Arturo.
    Hello Arturo,

Thank you for your reply. I understand that, but my question is why did I have to pay twice if they are the same product? Do they expire? The first purchase was in August 2023, they are both called Minecraft: Java and Bedrock edition for PC.

    Regards, G25
