Why is Amazon Echo so much better at understanding me?

This is not a post intended to berate but a post intended to ask a serious question. Why is Kinect so awful at understanding me??? I enunciate for a living as a pharmacist and am on the phone constantly. I know I speak clearly and concisely. Yet Kinect still
doesn't understand me. Echo does just fine. Am I to believe that a simple retailer is that much better than THE software company?? Or am I to believe I've been left in the dust with a piece of hardware that just won't get the support it deserves? You advertised
the hell out of the hardware just years ago, billing it as the next best thing. And I do love it! When it works, that is. What makes Microsoft believe well just jump on board with the next best thing (hololens) when the LAST best thing works so sporadically?

Please fix the hardware you have out there before moving on, or people will not move with you. I grew up with Microsoft and you've crapped the bed on this one. Yeah, sales were bad but it makes a bad situation worse when you abandon early adopters with something
like this. You can do better.

@rippen...great read, not that I understand much of it, but looking at the comments gives a better understanding, so this is why we are seeing the better textures on the one then.

Hi bsalent I you have not already done so please re run the Kinect sound setup section again but with the TV volume higher than you would normally have to see if that helps with the voice commands.

Also Microsoft are probably going to be launching Cortana on the Xbox One in the next couple of months so most of the resources have probably been concentrating on that than refining the current voice control system.
