Why is a person who blocked me able to follow me?

I'm just weirded out how this person blocked me, but is still a follower.

Blocked people still able to message me.

I have a person blocked on my account, I blocked communications and did the submit player review and they just managed the message me today after having them blocked for over three years now. I haven't messaged this person or played with them since then,
so why are they now suddenly able to message me?

 

Blocking a gamer

My son was playing online with a gamer, and they were having an issue with another gamer who was trying to interfere in the game. This person was saying some horrible things to my son, so he blocked and reported them. The person who my son was
initially playing with claimed that they also blocked the offending person.


However, when he continued to play with the gamer, he saw on the gamer's profile that the offending person was
still listed under their "follower" list, and my son asked them why it still appears
under their "follower" list if they also blocked them. The offending person was blocked by my son, and that person's information
does not appear anywhere on my son's xbox profile page.





I guess my question would be, is this gamer lying to my son? He doesn't really care, but he wants to know how it is possible that he still sees the offending person's information on his gamer friend's profile? He wanted me to ask this question.

Have you tried blocking them back.

 

I think there is an issue with this feature.

I say this because recently a friend of mine reported/blocked/deleted someone yet he still gets a notification when this person comes online.

I believe others were mentioning similar issues on the Xbox Support Forums.

 

Yeah,this feature has been a bit hinky lately & has affected quite a few people.

It is being looked into as far as I know.

 

How do you know they blocked you?
