why i'd never tell a friend to join xbox live

because if you pay for dlc and you don't have gold. you don't get full access to most of your dlc and in that aspect i feel like microsoft rip us off, so no gold subscription you lose what you have rightfully pay for. which is not right on all the players
and for this my next console upgrade will be the p.s 4. sorry but all the cash iv spent on dlc i feel like i got to keep my gold just so i don't lose my content. but if this changes befor i get my next console i will get a xbox one. as i have lots to lose.

I give bowski her due, she joins in a little. She was also good enough to pm me to tell me why I'd been naughty the other day.

 

"Join Party" option always greyed out

Just got my xbox one and updated the console. I've added a few friends to date but when I see them playing a game the join game and join party is always greyed out!?

Why is that so? I can never ever join a random guys or friends game cause it's always greyed out. This was never so difficult on the 360!

Where did you get that from? You don't lose access to your dlc if you don't have gold.

 

As Badger said, keeping a subscription to Gold doesn't cause to you lose anything, if anything it gives you more benefits as a Gamer such as Online Multiplayer and Free Games. Most DLC now typically requires a Gold Connection for it to be used to a great
extent much like games like Destiny, Call of Duty, FiFa and larger game titles. You don't lose a single thing when being subscribed to Gold apart from a small amount of money each month.

 

As already stated, all your content is avalible to access reguardless of subscription level.

i know this because xbox had a problem with my account and lost my bank details. and in that 2 days i lost dlc for most of my games and access to some of my downloaded games and one of them was mincraft that game you don't need online for. but if you download
it you can only play demo of the game with out gold. i'm only speaking from my own experience with xbox i don't post from things i read online.

 

Well you are wrong then. Simple. If the owner of the DLC or Game is on the Xbox and that is your Home Xbox then you do NOT lose access to the content.

If you share the account to download the content in multiple locations all locations EXCEPT FOR HOME console will have to be connected to LIVE to use the content.

 

I have never had a issue playing dlc on my games without gold, so like others have said where did you get that from. The only time not having gold would effect dlc is if it is a multiplayer dlc like say a map for a game
