Why i try to add someone on my xbox one it says error try again later and it won't show me...

Based on the description, you are trying to add a friend in your Xbox console and is unable to due to an error. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. Are you unable to add specific person or friend or cannot anyone of your friend?

2. Is your account managed by parent or organizer under Xbox Family settings app?

3. Are you able to update or change your online and privacy settings of your account?

It is possible that your online and privacy settings to add friend online is not enabled that is why there is an error in adding friend. Or it is possible that there is service interruption with Xbox server causing this service to fail. Let us check it though by performing some troubleshooting steps.

1. Check Xbox Status page here: Xbox Status | Xbox Support

• If there is an error under Friends and Social activity, then wait under the service is up and running.
  

2. If your account is not managed by parent or organizer under Xbox Family settings app, you can check your online and privacy settings if you are able to add friend. If your account is managed by parent, only parent can change the settings.

• Log in to https://account.xbox.com/settings 
  
• In the navigation tabs click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety
  
• Select Allow for You can add friends.
  
• then click Submit.

Yeah I've tried the Xbox Game Bar app, if I try to send a message it says "Something went wrong, try again later" and if I try to add a friend it won't let me.

When I try using the Xbox app on PC it won't even let me browse the community tab and everything I boot up it has a notification to change my Privacy settings even after I change them, reboot, logout, login.

With the app on Android I get an error icon when I try to add a friend or send a message.

i am also trying to register my xbox but it is just giving me an error saying "we couldnt register right now, try again later" .....?????

I'm getting the same issue, and it won't even let me play online with my Xbox Live Gold account.

im trying to add paypal. i click on the add payment method and choose paypal, but when it loads it comes up with error 40101 and says try again later and i have. so can you please help me on this as i want to set up my xbox live account
