    Hi there.

    I've been having this issue for a while now, but no one has given me a straight answer.

    I want to buy an old XBOX 360 game (Perfect Dark Zero) from the XBOX LIVE Marketplace USING MY PC, since I sold my XBOX 360 a while ago. I currently own a XBOX ONE, so I wanted to buy the aforementioned game in order to test the backwards compatibility feature
    which will come with this fall's major XBOX ONE dashboard update.

    So I bought some points from a retail store, redeem the code, and my money was correctly added to my funds. But this is when things get strange. When I wanted to proceed to buy the game, the only options available for payment are my credit cards. I don't
    want to use my credit cards since I got good money in my account.

    I would like to point out that I am trying to do this FROM MY PC, accessing the
    www.xbox.com website, since I don't own a XBOX 360 anymore. Also, this seems to be happening only for old XBOX 360 games.

    So does anyone of you know why the store credit (from a redeemed code) is not available for payment for online transactions? Thanks in advance.

    The website has never been updated to work with the currency system when it comes to purchasing Xbox 360 content. You have to make the purchase from the console in order to use currency from your Microsoft account balance.

    Kindly try to purchase the Xbox subscription in a web browser using a different device such as a Windows PC/laptop or mobile phone by signing your account using this link:

    Also, make sure to change which type of subscription would you like to purchase if it's an Xbox game pass core, Xbox game pass for PC, or Xbox game pass ultimate.

    Ensure to match the region of the Xbox store link to the same region on your Xbox account for a successful purchase.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    It may mean that the Microsoft balance on your account does not match the Microsoft Store region that you're using in attempting to buy an item.

    In buying through Microsoft, the physical location, Microsoft store region, payment method region, billing address, and account region need to all match.

    Hi Bleed P! I hope you are well, delighted to be able to offer you my help!

    Try adding a new payment option (deleting an existing one and then adding it again should work) and then try using your account balance to complete the purchase. This resolved the issue for other users who received this error. Unfortunately, xbox.com does not currently allow you to use your account balance, so you should try to make the purchase on your console to use the money you have.
